Filming: Looking for Prisoner's Wives
I'm currently looking for a few wives / girlfriends / partners of prisoners based in the UK to share their stories and experiences of what they go through, coping with their partner being away and, amongst other things, the emotional and financial burdens they face.

Whilst I appreciate that this could be a really tough thing to speak about, I hope that in speaking about it you'll be able to share an insight about an area of life that is often overlooked when people speak about or depict prisons and prisoners. Whilst there have been many prison programs on TV, I've never seen a documentary made from the perspective of people's partners, so this is what we're aiming to make.

Who we Are

I'm part of a documentary film company called Rogan Productions and we're dedicated to making a very accurate film and undertaking the production sensitively and responsibly. The company has a reputation for making films about difficult matters, with past films about gun laws in the US and the detention of one man in Guantanamo Bay. Personally, I've made 2 films about war crimes committed in the country I'm from (Bosnia) in which I spoke to survivors of war crimes. We make films to share important and overlooked stories. You can find our website online (I'm not able to post it) just search roganproductions dot net

Next Steps

We're looking to film a 'taster' in the next few months which is just a few interviews about people's experiences. The taster will not be broadcast anywhere, but used for internal purposes to help commission the full documentary. Taking part in the taster doesn't mean that you agree to the full documentary either.

The next step would be to speak with you on the phone, hear your story and tell you a bit more about us and take it from there. As per forum rules, I can't place personal details on here so please either write a reply on this thread so I can message you or send me a private message directly and we can exchange details in private to arrange for a phone call. All communication will be strictly confidential.

Thanks for your time. I sincerely hope you feel we're approaching the film with decency and respect, but if you have any concerns then please let me know.
