J-pay help please!

Hi,
I am posting this for a friend on my pen pal group. Her pen pal friend is at at Limon prison in Colorado.
She currently writes to him letters only. However he has told her she may send him letters to his J-pay, which she has been doing. He says he can only write written letters back. Does anybody know why this is? Is it the prison or the person? Any advice is appreciated. She says thank you in advance.
😊

Colorado currently doesnt have tablets so the guys have to snail mail back to any jpays they receive. If you send a jpay the facility prints them out and gives them to the guys as if they were a written letter.

Thank you for your response. My boyfriend was at Englewood FCI & we spoke by Corrlinks so I didn’t understand what was the deal with Jpay. Is it the same if you send photos to them that way too?
Thanks for your help littledarkone I’ll tell her.

Jpay is probably the fastest way to write to a penpal in Colorado. The emails are printed and delivered in the facilities Monday to Friday not on weekends or holidays.
There is currently no way for inmates to email back so they have to write back snail mail as littledarkone said.

If your friend is in the uk she could look at using jmail.cc its a service that lets the inmate write to a USA address and then scans and emails the letter to her email address. There is a charge for this service I think its £10 for 3 months.

It is not email but its quicker.

Thank you maytayah I will pass this information on. She is in the uk.
Do you know if j-pay do the same with photos that are sent? Do they print them out & give the inmate a copy?
Thank you

Yes they print out photos and give them to the inmate. My husband gets his in colour I am not sure if all places are the same but I think so. The same rules apply to jpay photos regarding no gang signs , weapons or nudity.

I wish my man could print photos. He is on NJSP and they don't print them. He can only view them on his tablet

Just me again ladies!
So my friend Annie has received a snail mail today from her friend, he had told her he’s been moved from Limon to Sterling. Will she still be able to jpay him? Even though he’s moved does his jpay ‘move’ with him? He did not say in the letter. TIA xx

Yes, she will still write the same way and he will get it at Sterling. JPay goes off of the doc number.

Maytayah. She has made a account on Jmail and she can see how to draft letters etc, but Obviously she wants the Jmail box. She cannot find any option to access it even though she’s logged in. Are you able to locate where it is once you’re logged in? Thank you
