CCC Newbie Q&A

Hello all

My name is Imani. My friend just got transfered to Suanville on Monday in hopes to get into a Fire Camp. His status is Level 1 can someone please tell me how long does it takes to get into a camp?

William'sBaby 10-17-2006 11:25 AM

According to PTO member JLS:

Quote:

The training only takes 6 to 8 weeks. If every thing else goes well, the goal is to get the inmate to camp within 90 days of his being seen by classification committee. Usually, the inmates gets to camp about 3 to 4 months from classification. This is due to having to clear warrants, getting the CI&I, getting medical clearance, etc. Most inmates that are going to camp only stay in CCC for 3 to 4 months.

CCC Newbie Questions

Hi,
OK so I found out that my man's address at CCC is p.o. Box 2400. Does that mean he's in infirmary?
Does that mean he is hurt? Ugh I'm so anxious.
He just got transferred on Tuesday. I don't know how any of this works or when I'll be able to make visits.... Really hurting here.
Any advice or help would be so nice...

I heard that it's around 10 days because they are in orientation. Where did he come from?. If you're interested in carpool let me know.

I just found out my son in in B unit too. He was at fire camp. I accidentally pressed the nubmer for litigation and the man was nice enough to give me the unit he is in but insisted (despite what the CDCR website says) that it is not the infirmary. I have left a message at the medical number but UUGGHH its so hard when the information is inaccurate and no one answers.

I did find out its Sierra yard.... I feel like there aren't many CCC people on here!

Boyfriend moved to Susanville. Haven't heard from him since!

So my boyfriend was sentenced 3 years with 80%. He is currently in Susanville. He called Friday to tell his mother he has been moved. Haven't heard from him since. Any idea on how calling works? Is it everyday, every week, or random? Also the last I heard his release date is May 2017:(. Is there anyway that since he has been sent to camp he will get out any earlier than that? Please give any information you can help with. I REALLY need it.

I can tell you what I know only from my own experience. When it comes to using the phones they usually have a sign up sheet that they put their name on, but that doesn't guarantee phone usage. It can also depend on if they get yard in order to use the phone and sometimes who actually is controlling the phones. Usually other inmates control the phones and depending on what the inmate has to offer can determine is fate with a phone call. It has been known that inmates serving an 80% sentence may only end up serving anywhere from 60-70% of their sentence. Hopefully your LO will be released earlier than expected.

Well that's better than nothing. I'm just anxious for him to come home. And I hope he calls again soon. I've been waiting to find out his address and stuff. Does he know his release date? Is hr told that or does he know once he's close to his release date? And thanks for the information.

How long does it take to be classified?/Haven't Heard From Son

My son was transfered to ccc last monday
i haven't receive any calls from him yet, does anybody knows if they are on lockdown or how long it takes there to be classified. I'm a little worried because he told me in a letter he was going to call me christmas eve or christmas day nut haven't heard from him yet.

Confused

I'm confused on the mail aspect...I'm trying to write a friend at camp and inmate locator says susanville, I know that's reception but does mail go there and the prison sends it to camp or what? I know he gets out in the next couple months so maybe he's been sent back to susanville?

sidewalker 04-16-2016 08:19 AM

Do you know if he's in reception?
If he's just arrived, he probably is.
Not familiar with fire camps and their mail. You may want to check in the fire camps forums.......to see how they process the mail.

Hi and welcome to PTO..
If you're looking on the CA inmate locator, it will say he's located in Susanville, (Because that's where he was, before he was sent to Fire Camp) but that's not where you send his mail. You might be able to call Susanville to find out which camp they sent your LO too.
