Central California GTG 2016

So I am in the Sacramento Valley and thought maybe we should plan a get together for spring in the area for Central California.

Please let me know if anyone would be interested. I am thinking May 2016 maybe at Discovery Park in Sacramento (the park side, not the beach side)- Make it a good family event picnic/BBQ... I have volleyball nets and other fun outdoor family games.

Sometimes we tend to find ourselves excluded in many things because people just don't understand our lifestyles -- lets give this a try!

I'm new, so forgive me if this has been asked already. How did the picnic go? I would like to know of plans for Spring 2017, Thank you!

I'm currently in SD but grew up in Sac and surrounding areas. I'd be happy to help with any questions or advice that I can answer.

Thank you! How sweet! I haven't got any questions RIGHT NOW. About THIS topic, LOL. Please check back, as I'm expecting visitor approval soon. I'm sure questions will flow as planning begins. Nice to have a support group for those of us left outside. Thank you!

Picnic idea

Also, the picnic idea sounds wonderful. I'm way down in Santa Cruz, so Sacto is a stretch for a picnic (FOR ME), but the idea is awesome and should be a no-brained to help the outsiders meet and support one another. You have my vote, even if I don't go (and who knows, I might. Perspective changes just like the weather.)

^^ I used to have a bf who went to Santa Cruz university. The drive is far 3-4hrs easily in good weather. May I suggest amtrak? Only, if you have that kind of time.

I hope your visits get approved soon. The only places I'm not great with is anything below Elk Grove and Laguna. They've made all those dry grass fields into shopping malls and planned communities by now. Sac isn't close to much but there are many places to meet up in Sac.

I'm interested. I'm near Orange county. How far is central California?

Tabookitty 06-20-2017 12:42 AM

I've changed my mind. The inmate I was going to visit and I are too different with plans/goals, so we've moved on, BUT THANKS. This could change at some PT, but not today. Thank you for including me. Y'all have FUN !!

Get 2 gethers

Is anyone in San Luis Obispo County? I am a divorced inmates wife, but I still visit him. Suggestions?

Tabookitty 01-14-2018 12:27 PM

I’m no longer corresponding with my friend (inmate) much. I cannot afford the investment of time or the commissary money. Still a great idea for supporting one another.
Thanks for including me. I still care about said inmate, just can’t afford the commitment (lost my job in Oct and been too sick with viruses and flu since). Hope y’all have dodged this flu!

Wow.....if only we'd known then what is very much a part of the here and now. Hope you're doing better and may the force be with us all.
