Hi my name is shelby I am new to the board. I live in annapolis,MD, My husband was sentenced on 9-21-07. He received 3 yrs. they just moved him to MRDCC in Baltimore last weds. I have not spoke to him since when he first got there last weds. and he was being processed I am going crazy until I can talk to him again. I have 4 Kids ages 1,3,7 and my stepson age 15 so this is a very difficult thing to explain to the kids. My husband has been in and out of trouble but this is his first time going to jail usually he just ends up in a.a.c. detention center. This is a great board I am so glad that I found it.

I need some HELP. It seems that lately every conversation I have with my husband turns in to an argument. Yesterday i finally was like look just call me back in an hour, which only made situations worse. I feel like i am going out of my mind. I have already had a miscarriage, a mild heart attack, several panic attacks, and don't sleep without sleeping pills. I work crazy hours o tkae care of our 2 beautiful boys and make sure everything is taking care of, so i haven't been able to go see him since august. I have seen him in court everytime though. this whole thing is so taxng and stressing. He fells as though i am holding stuff back or lieying tohim when i tell him everything is fine, i just don't want to stress him out even more about things he can't control. Please tell me what i am doing worng and how i canmake it right.

Hi everyone. My man was in ECI for a while and I live about 15 miles north of Baltimore. We were just friends at the time, but it was still a hike to get down there to see him. He got out in January 07. Now, he is getting ready to go to HCDC for a small bit, and then maybe longer come Feb when he has his VOP hearing.

hey my guy friend is in MTC this time around....anybody know anyone there or anything about the place?

DOCSux1 12-03-2007 10:58 AM

Welcome to PTO. My friend's husband was there for several months. She said the visiting was only 30 minutes, and the wait to get in was long.

Dragonfly326 01-10-2008 11:30 AM

New to the site, My babies daddy..LOL is getting a VOP and will be or may be violated before his "sentencing"...So, not sure how to proceed, and weither I should even continue like there is a "Us", cause somethings I don't want to live with anymore. LOTs to consider, and filled with uncertanity. My parents don't know, and makes it harder, cause I don't have family support, and a almost 3 year old daughter to take care of.
Like eating a bite at a time!!!!!!!

welcome to all the new Maryland members and Happy New Year to all. My husband is at MCIH and has been for 3 years now. If you need to know anything about the facility let me know.

I have a brother who will soon be 38. He has been in and out since he was 18. We did grow up in the same house but tried on occasions without sucess to be close and civil. I do care about but he has made many bad choices. Our mother passed away nearly five years ago. He has no one else. I don't want to abandon him but I never liked him much. He has no one and I'm stuck. I feel like all my past attemps to help him has just been wasted. It also feels wrong to throw someone away. I don't care to see him again, but if I can bring some help to him I will. Just want to know if anyone else feel's this way. I'm not cold hearted. I'm just tired. It's been 20 years of my brother not getting his act together.

bttrflylaw 01-25-2008 12:09 AM

Hi All, I am new to the boards and the life...My hubby is at the Herman L. Toulson Boot Camp in Jessup, MD. He is hoping to get in Feb or March's platoon and get his pre-map so we can see when he is coming home. He is in there for distribution. Everyone has been great on these boards.

tchr05 01-26-2008 07:28 PM

I'm very new. I didn't even know this place existed, and I'm glad that it does. No one in my family or friends understands what it's like waiting for a man in prison. He's locked up at the North Branch Correctional Institution, just transferred there from Eastern Correctional Institution. I live in Maryland, near the Delaware line. Anyone with any information about NBCI would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Newbies
Welcome to all the new ladies in the Maryland Forum

In the past few days I've noticed that people seem to be frustrated about the lack of post on this forum. I myself have been a member for over 2 years but I don't post in this forum often. I just wanted to say that PTO has been very helpful to me especially in the beginning when I was scared, lonely and confused. Put yourself in the place of the newbies and try to share whatever information you have. Its hard when you can't count on family and friends for support and no one understands why you are lovin an inmate.

I understand and I think most of us can relate to being new at this at one time in our lives. Lets get more communication, Ask questions, Start a new thread if you feel like sharing. We are not here to judge each other just keep each other company when things go wrong and your feeling stressed.

blue_eyes777 01-29-2008 05:49 PM

That is so true! My man is in WCI. It's really hard. Most of my friends know, my best friends are supportive except for my son's godmother. Even with family support it's lonely. I especially hate leavin after a visit!

msj 01-30-2008 09:44 AM

the drive home
Its always hard to leave. The ride home seems to go by fast but my mood is usually down. As soon as I walk out those doors I'm missing him maybe more than I did on my way in. On the ride up I'm anxious and excited to see him but after the visit I feel sad. I try not to let it show and I always blow him kisses out the door. Sometimes I can see him walking back to his bldg and I wave and blow kisses.

How is your ride up and going home?

kshifflett 02-01-2008 02:53 PM

My man did 5 years between Jessup and ECI, with interims in the city. He did a short bit in Harford County DC and is up for VOP in a few very short days. I am PRAYING he doesnt get sent back!

DOCSux1 02-02-2008 09:22 AM

I always found better when he was closer to home...and I didnt have the long drive back. That seems to help !!

tchr05 02-03-2008 07:32 AM

Because mine just got transferred out to NBCI he's on ad seg and can't have visits. I haven't been able to see him since the summer, and every day I'm surprised at how much harder it gets to be without him. I thought that after four years I'd at least be somewhat used to it, but I don't think that I ever truly will be. It's the little things that I miss the most, you know? The most basic physical contact is what I find myself craving, just a simple hug or an arm around my shoulders. It's nice knowing that not only am I not the only person going through this, but that there is a place where I can relate to other people who are going through the same exact things.

msj 02-03-2008 11:48 AM

Would you tell other people
I always see posts with people saying they are so happy that they found this site. I know its been very helpful and comforting to me. I was wondering how you found the site and if you would refer someone else to it.

If you had a friend or family member who has a loved one who was locked up would you tell them about PTO.
