New from Colorado with questions!
Good morning! I'm new to this site. I live in Colorado and my boyfriend is currently at Centennial Correctional Facility doing a 180 day turn around for getting a new charge. He was sentenced to 12 mos of probation for this new charge. Since he was on a parole hold he did 85 days before he saw the parole board. They credited him the 85 days towards his 180 day turn around. My question is, do they get good time for such a short sentence? He only has roughly 2 mos left and was just transferred to prison from county. Also, will he get out on the 180th day exactly? And when will he be able to call me? It's killing me! Thanks

Hi there welcome to PTO , I can't answer your specific questions and I hope someone can. However have you search his name here it should tell when he is due for release. It updates with good time as it is earned.

Thanks. That shows where he is but his release date is incorrect. I wonder how long it takes to update?

Have you contacted the facility? if you call ask to speak to his case manager they should be able to give you the information about his release.

I left a message with his case manager. Hopefully she calls me back. I submitted an application for visits but I guess he's just at CCF for a 14 day quarantine then will go to DRDC then to another facility from there. Do you know how long it typically takes to get the phone list approved? I haven't been able to talk to him for 8 days and I'm all sad!! Lol. I hope I never have to go through this again.

I think phone lists can take approx 14 days to be approved. The application for visits about the same. There are video visits available at some facilities now.

Finally heard from him on Friday. They only get 10 mins on the phone. It's 23 and 1 because he's in quarantine. He said it's super hard right now! Do you typically know how many good days they get a month?
Thanks ☺️ |
Here's a link to a Justia law article that explains Colorado's earned time statutes (the underlying statute is § 17-22.5-405: earned good time).

Thanks for all of the help. His release date is December 2nd but his case manager said probably earlier for good time but never said how much, so I guess I'll just have to wait until he tells me when he's getting out for sure. Haha.
