My husband filed for a compassionate release for non medical reasons because his children's mom committed suicide and the children don't really have a carefiver. The warden denied him stating that at sentencing they were fully aware of the situation but still sentenced him to 11 years. This was never brought up at his sentencing and also he was facing a minimum of 10 years to life so the judge had to sentence him to at least 10. From what I read on compassionate release, most of the applications never even make it past the warden. We spent months on working on the paperwork and it took her less than a day to say no! It's sad that they are more worried about making money off the inmates being in the prison than they are the well being of them!
