Question Lakota Giveaway??????

Hello Everyone, I have a question regarding a Give Away,I recived a letter from one of my brothers friends, you see my brother Smokie passed away in Feb. 2005 Mr. Fourhorns asked me when it came one year of Smokies passing would we have a Ceremony to release his Spirit and have a Give Away?In Kansas our D.O.C. have what is called The United Tribes ,when my brother went to Ellsworth he was taken in by Lokota brothers so he did practice the Lokota ways ,myself am Cherokee and i was the one who made all the arrangments when it came to his crossing over with Creator,i tried to contact someone to come and send him in a Lokota Way,which is what would have been a Good Thing....However it did not go that way instead he was sent in a Cherokee Way,one thing i believe in is a Ceremony of cutting of the casket done in a Good Way,a Cross is cut on the casket and the spirit is then released,Smoking Prarie Dog,thats my brother was released that day,we did have a Give Away at that time, but again in a Cherokee Way.I do not know the Lokota Way can some one help me? Wa-do Smokies sister Sarah

Hi Sarah, one of our members has replied...i dont know how helpful this will be. I am thinking if you had access to the below mentioned resource, you would have gone there already.

waiting for other responses...

Hey Wingy
I would suggest that they get in touch with the Lakota Holy Men on this one as they are the ones to be consulted in such matters.

Sarah, my best friend is a innuit medicine woman, however, I believe she has Lakota Relation through her step-father, if you would like I will ask if she can help make contact.....

I just reread your last post, I am glad that you have found the answers you sought.
