Need advice about Uk system

I got a call of my ex last week to say my son can be released on a tag. I was over the moon, the next day my ex called to say he couldnt be released as they wouldn't allow J to go live with him as he's out on bail........I have all week tried to think of someone my son can live with, I asked my ex why hasn't the probation helped in finding him some where, he said they told my son he has to give an address. My ex called me this morning to tell me if J can't find some where to live by Tuesday, he will have to stay in and serve his sentance out till his early release date, he has done so well with courses in maths and english, and is working outside the prison. It breaks my heart to know he could be free and has no where to go. I wish he could fly over here to be with me. Is there no help for them when there coming out for resettlement.

Usually, if the inmate doesn't provide an address which is adequate for release, they place them in a hostel. Have you asked about this?

Yeah, get probation to work with ya n they will put him in hostel
