I hope to be able to enable and area where First Nation, Metis and Inuit people can connect and share information.
There is a need in this forum for your own space since you have unique questions that are often not dealt with always in the main forum.
Feel free here to talk about what every you need to speak about. I also invite you to introduce yourself so that we can all get to know each other here. Any suggestions or questions I will try to answer and we can all help each other together to get this section a good source of information and support.
Please be patient, this is a new birth of a subforum and it will take a little time to get it up and going. Your support and input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!!! I am Cyndi, Abenaki, my family comes from Quebec, although I reside in the United States. I do trvel to Canada fairly often...mostly to the eastern seaboard to the MiqMak, and Maliseet reserves. ...I am an active member of the American Indian Forum. If I can be of any help in any area just give me a shout...

I am so happy to see another forum dedicated to our first Nations brothers and sisters in the Iron House...

I am not native either but my fiance is Algonquin from Quebec and has just been sentenced to 2 years. I am trying so hard to do whatever I can so that he can be paroled as early as possible. I am finding that there is not alot of people from quebec on this website. How Come?? Carrie

Hi robzgirlcarrie! I live in Quebec! Like you, I'm not Native, but my man is Algonquin from TFN. My guy was sentenced to 5 years a couple of months ago. Where's your guy now? I hope things are going ok for you guys, considering. Mine's still at Millhaven, but we're trying SO hard to get him transferred to Quebec sometime soon.

My dear friend is Inuit and is in Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre.
He is mentally ill and has an addiction problem and I do not know how to help him. Is anyone there in the same situation?

Default Alberta native---newbie
Hey there, Im Dene/ Cree/ Nakoda. my fiance is Cree from Alberta. I see there is a lack of resources and connections for First Nations dealing with the Correctional System. He has 11 mths left. It is a hard journey but we are getting thru it. there is some discrimination in the jails for aboriginal offenders. Despite the fact how the statisitcs are high for aboriginal offenders. I hope to get connected with some support and make connections. this site is made for support and info.
