Howzit!

I decided to start this thread for everyone and anyone cruising through the Hawaii forum as a place to just say "howzit" and see how we're all doing. I know that we have quite a bit of people that come to visit this forum, a few of them having relatives in the prison system here on the island. No matter where you're from, I'd love to hear from you.

So WHAAAZZZUP??? This past weekend was hotter than h-e-double hockey sticks over here on O'ahu. It was so hot, if I sat still for more than a minute I felt like I was melting into a puddle! While waiting for the bus to pick me up on Saturday, I almost got a sunburn standing out in the hot sun. And I only waited for 5 MINUTES. Talk about global warming issues.

Well, no be shame! Check on in, even if it's to just say 'hi'!

I am just passing by, cruising the forums and thought I would stop and say hi to all of you out here. I love the Islands and like to keep tabs on them once in a while to keep up with the different laws and changes. Maybe someday I will make it back....

Wow I wuz sooo surprised to finally see Hawaii listed on PTO, I hope if there are any island warriors passing by this wonderful site...come on in and say how's it!!

Mahalo and thanks to sistah for starting this thread, I've been a member of PTO since last 2004, my sweetie is doing time w/ the Florida Feds...sucks, but I'm gonna wait and keep praying.

WOW! Another Hawaii sistah! Aloha and welcome to the Hawaii forum of PTO. Yep, I'd love nothing better than to see the word spread about PTO in the islands. I've been doing some volunteer work at Halawa Medium and have mentioned PTO in the hopes of the guys getting the message out to their loved ones. Hopefully they've been checking out the website.

Hi,
I'm new here...I have a close friend entering the prison system here in Hawaii sometime next month for a pretty long term. Can someone pls advise me what to expect at both Halawa and OCCC as far as visitation (i.e. how long it normally takes to clear background checks), atmosphere, etc? I have no idea what to expect as I've never had to visit anyone in prison before.

It would be interesting to see which islands people are from. I lived on Ohau for 3 yrs but I had several swim meets on Maui when I was younger. I never made it to the Big Island though. Lots to see on Ohau and Maui though.

Growing up in Hawaii was great! They have great trees for climbing. I remember always being outside and riding my bike. I also loved going to the ocean. There was quite a bit to see when I was there. One of the big draws on Ohau was the Polynesion Cultural Center. I'm sure I probably spelled it wrong but it was pretty educational about the history of the islands and stuff. I even took hula lessons when I was there. I loved it!!
