Question Son Is Wandering The Streets In Salina, Ks.

GREETINGS ALL YOU WONDERFUL KNOWLEDGEABLE PEOPLE. I NEED YOUR HELP RIGHT AWAY..
MY SON WAS PAROLED IN SALINA, KANSAS WITH LESS THAN 90 DAYS ON PAPER LEFT.THAT'S THE GOOD NEWS.
HIS FAMILY IS IN COLORADO. HE KNOWS NO ONE IN KANSAS. HE HAS BEEN THERE OVER A WEEK AND I AM RUNNING OUT OF FUNDS TO WIRE HIM.
HE HAD BEEN ON PAROLE IN COLORADO. BUT A CHANGE IN P.O.'S LED TO A RETURN VISIT TO LOVELY KANSAS. I WROTE A LETTER TO BOTH KS. AND CO. PAROLE ABOUT THE UNPROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR OF HIS P.O. AND I GUESS SHE GOT A VERY MINOR SPANKING. JUST ENOUGH TO PISS HER OFF!
SO SHE CAME UP WITH A LIST OF DEMANDS FOR HIS NEW PAROLE WHICH I TOLD YOU EARLIER WAS LESS THAN 90 DAYS, THAT NO HUMAN COULD ABIDE BY. PLUS SHE WAS TRYING TO EXTEND RETIRING HIS NUMBER UNTIL JANUARY!
SO...HE WAS ABLE TO COME TO CO. AND PICK UP HIS CAR AND A FEW NECESSITIES ON A TRAVEL PERMIT. (REMIND ME LATER TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE CO. P.O. SHOWING UP AND TOSSING MY DAUGHTERS PLACE LOOKING FOR MY SON. WHO WAS SAFELY ACROSS THE STATE LINE BY THEN. YOU COULD ALMOST SEE THE SMOKE COMING OUT HER EARS BUT WE WILL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER DAY)
I'M ON MY LAST NERVE WORRYING ABOUT MY BOY. IS ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH THE SALINA AREA? HIS P.O. SENT HIM TO THE MISSION. HE HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR WORK. BUT THEY THINK HE'S CRAZY WITH NO PHONE OR ADDRESS.
DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SAFE WEEKLY MOTEL? OR A ROOM FOR RENT? I WOULD PAY IN ADVANCE TO GET MY BOY OFF THE STREETS.
MOSTLY I AM HAVING A HARD TIME DEALING WITH THE FACT THAT THEY KICK HIM LOOSE (FROM NORTON) WEARING SOMEBODY ELSE'S CLOTHES. WITH CHANGE IN HIS POCKETS. TELL HIM HE HAS TO BE IN SALINA THE NEXT DAY. HE MAKES IT THE COUPLE HUNDRED MILES. THEY GIVE HIM A TRAVEL PERMIT AND TELL HIM TO BE BACK MONDAY. HE COMES BACK 400 MILES AND SHE CAN'T SEE HIM. THE SOONEST IS THURSDAY. REMIND YOU HE HAS NO MONEY NO PLACE TO LIVE AND KNOWS NO ONE. HE HAS A FLAT ON THE WAY TO THE APPOINTMENT THURSDAY. HAS TO WAIT FOR ME TO WIRE MORE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED. CALLS HER 30 MINUTES LATER AND SHE IS LEAVING FOR THE DAY(IT WAS 9:30 IN THE MORNING). WON'T BE BACK TIL MONDAY AGAIN. SO WE SCRAP UP SOME MORE MONEY TO GET HIM THRU THE WEEKEND. HE SHOWS UP AND SHE TELLS HIM TO GO TO THE MISSION, GET A JOB, BE BACK AGAIN THURSDAY!
HOW DO THEY EXPECT THESE GUYS TO SURVIVE? MY BOY'S LUCKY WE WERE ABLE TO SEND HIM A LITTLE MONEY. BUT THAT IS DRYING UP AS WE SPEAK. I AM SURPRISED THE CRIME RATE ISN'T OUT OF CONTROL IN SALINA.
PLEASE IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A TREE HOUSE, A DOGHOUSE, EVEN A DOLL HOUSE FOR RENT AT A GOOD RATE. CONTACT ME ASAP.
THANKS TO EVERYONE IN ADVANCE FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER YOU'RE THE BEST

FELICIA
RYAN'S MOM

Default Salina Kansas

Why doesn't he use the address for the mission on job applications? He should have a SS card and some form of I.D. Most places would temporarily take release papers, for I.D. purposes. As far as a phone #, there is noone who works in the office at the mission, or the organization who runs it, that can be contacted in regards to a job? I find that hard to believe. Your son should have gotten gate money, and money from the inmate fund that they set aside for release. My bad, I guess he was only at norton for 90 days for the p.v.
I do not know if it will let me post a link or not, so go to google and type in "salina kansas job center" the 3rd listing down will be a .pdf file with a whole bunch of jobs located in salina, everything from golf course maint. to machinist. It includes addresses, and contact people at the business As well as phone #'s If he needs a phone # for job purposes, get him a TracFone, with 20$ on it, and he can give that to businesses for a number.
If you would like you can p.m. me and I will try to help you as best I can.

A cheap cell phone is a good idea - to be used only for vm. He could return calls on a payphone.

He can go to the local social services office and get: emergency food stamps, possibly medicare, definite enrollment in the workforce commission, and referrals to shelters, halfway houses, etc.

A weekly place is going to run close to $300 per week after the taxes and fees. Is that feasible for you?
