Default WA State DOC Inmate Locator

just wanted to let everyone know that doc has changed their website. now they have the option of looking up an offender to see what facility they are in, in case anyone needs to find their loved ones. it's pretty neat. if anyone doesn't know the website, here it is:

Thank you for that!!! That is so cool. I tried it, and typed the 6 digit DOC number, but nothing came up. Then I tried the full name and nothing came up. If you type only the last name, information comes up. And it is accurate. I guess there are 10 digits in the DOC number, so preceeding the 6 digits should have been 4 zeros. Anyway...

Only type the offender's last name!

Default Wa Inmate Look Up *new*

That's GREAT!!! I'm kinda sad that they don't give the unit numbers though. I mean, that means you have to call....and I know the woman who works the desk at A Horribly unmentioned Correctional Center is especially twatty when it comes to giving out this information.

We may be twisted but we have our reasons! I found out thru this new website that one of the inmates who had a seperation order against my husband is now in work release!!! That' clears up monroe for us!!! But the bad news is that the other guy who was at AHCC is now in Connell...that's where we were supposed to go!!
Damn it! LOL!!

Hey ~ that's great! Thanks for posting it! I see that they've made other changes too... you can now download and print a visiting ap. instead of waiting for one to be sent to you... that will help a lot of people!

aww ... no offence but i didn't really want this to happen, ahhh!!!! because my man knew some dumb girls and i don't want for them to know his info, (though i doubt they would call in and ask) but i guess, it's up to him if he wants to start his crap again .... ahh i'm mad now ( not at the post believe me)

..... but another thing, i just hope they would had put our mens pics up and stuff ... at least i would hope for that.

Oooooooo... I have some problems with the site. It's very easy to look up an inmate (I looked up my son) and find out where they are. Privacy issues here... It means that a few people I'd rather not have access to that information now have access to that information.....

yup .. just like no escape from reality said ... i guess it's good for family to look up their loved ones ,,,.. but when it comes to "so called friends that aren't even their for them" and they just wanna mess up our men into the bad life .. URG!! that pisses me off!! but it's our mens fault too if they choose the wrong path again ..

Whether it be the web site or not, if someone really wanted to find an inmate all they have to do is call DOC or email DOC and tell the perosn on the phone that they are concerned for personal reasons and DOC would give out the info. I think the website is great myself. J.M.O.

I agree with Nawna, it was very easy to find out where an inmate's located just by making a few calls.
If someone was out to do an inmate harm, they could of done it the old way too.

I think there are definite pros and cons (no pun intended) to this site. It's true that anyone who really wanted the skinny on an inmate could get it through other channels. But I'd prefer someone had to work for that information. It's interesting, though, because they have my guy listed in a different prison than he's located - one he's never been to. I, though, am glad their pictures and convictions aren't included, like some states have.

true true ...

p.s. and i never said i didn't like the site because i do ... it's just personnal reasons why i wouldn't want my mans info up ... but it's okay i guess ... if someone wanted to get their info they would ...

BUT URG!! It pisses me off cuz someone could just get his info like nothing ... i think they should ask the inmates weather they want their info public or not .. i mean is it public information??? just like for SO?? hmm i dunno ...

Yep, it's all public information! Good thing we live in the greedy state of WA where public info like convictions cost money!

And the website says it only shows some of the people and correct location although....................................

While the information is believed to be accurate, DOC makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy of the information. This information is updated nightly, and is not a complete listing of offenders. The data only includes prisoners with active trust accounts.

So, if I don't want him on the list, I should just quit sending money for his books. Oh wait. He works. Oh well. I guess if you don't want anyone to know where you are, just be indigent in prison and you're anonymous.

I agree with JCLW. There are pros and cons to the site, but for me, I'd rather they had to work for the information. They're too lazy to do it the old fashioned way and too cheap to pay for a background check.

In my case, we're talking a couple of family members. They have looked him up in the past and I know they can get the information but they live out-of-state, so the more inconvenient it is for them, the better for my son.
