Default Annual lockdown?

I was just wondering if all the prisons have that and how long usually they last, when etc etc...

Where my husband is usually its towards the end of the year, and it lasts five days....

but where he is so many ppl act stupid, they get in a lockdown all the time, that you cant really tell when annual happends, or it just punishing them for someone's else mistakes!!!!

what about your loved ones?

I've never heard of a annual lockdown. My husbands prison has never had that. They do go on LD when they they do the annual TB test and they go on LD when they have there annual run/walk for a fallen CO. But just a annual LD for no reason I haven't heard of that.

My husband's facility does a 4-5 day lockdown twice a year - usually in April and October. They do a VERY thorough search looking, of course, for weapons, contraband, etc. It's a bummer in so many ways (no phone calls, being locked in his cell 24/7) but if that helps keep him and everyone else safer then, to be honest, we're all for it.

My stepfather is on lockdown right now for a month b/c of the inmates on death row using cell phones and making threating calls to a sentor. He is in Coffield Unit in Tennesse Colony, Texas. That is about 4 hours away from deathrow and where it happened. A friend of mine was a prison guard in Amarillo, tx and said that Texas goes on lockdown twice a year to seach for contriban and other things and it usually last from 2 weeks to a month. My stepdad confirmed that too. The inmates are locked up and are not allowed rec time and can't go to commisary at the prison my father is at. He was in Amarillo too and he said they did the same thing.
How long has your husband been in prison?

well the reason for a annual ld is to search each cell, and everything, make sure there is nothing there that shouldnt be.... it lasts 5 days... so I guess I should tell my hubby to be happy its not 2 weeks to a month! thats awful!

I will be so happy when this is all over.... and Im sure so so so many of you too!

xoxo

I sure am glad the prisons my husband has been at dosen't do that. They just do surprise raids every now and then and random searches. Do the inmates know when the annual ld is going to happen before it happens?

they NEVER know why are they on lockdown, no matter what kind is it...

He is in a lockdown *his pod* and I called today to ask why, or how long and the prison didnt know to tell me....

its awful where he is... but I guess it could be even worse right?
