I think it can be any magazines as long as they dont have nudity or anything like that. Oh and Gary said probaly not gun magazines either..HAHA i didnt plan on sending anything like that is what i told him. Maybe like a sports magazine or car and driver or something like that might be nice. I would look on amazon.com or go to some place like Hastings and you can look their and have them mail it from the store to him. I hope this helps!

It depends on where they are I suppose. My man told me there are guys where he is with PlayBoy subscriptions and photos of their girls with just bra and panties.

They can have any book/magazine that you wanna get them with the exception of nudy mags and mags/books about guns and or gang activity. But lil d is right... it does depend on where they are. Call the facility don't and speak to someone in the mailroom.

don't another great option for ordering him the books would be the Edward R Hamilton company. It's an old book seller that's been an easy adn approved way for inmates (all states and the Feds) to buy discount books for many years.

Nowadays of course, they have a huge online catalog with a browse option to search by either title or catagory of books, plus you can print out extra order forms (pdf format) and have them on hand in case you want to order by mail.

Just order the current catolog for the both of you, this puts you both on their mailing list so you'll get one in the mail with each new issue. You said you didn't know which 'self help' books he wanted, well this way he can study through the catalog himself and tell you the titles he decides on and you can order them online for him.

It speeds up the process alot and still gets them the books they relaly want and lets them take a more active roll in the process so they don't feel so 'out of the loop'.

This company has a set $3.50 S&H fee plus a little per @ book, but it's always cheaper than amazon or some of the other more popular online books sellers.

I'm not sure if I can post a link here though and stay within PTO rules, so just google up Edward R. Hamilton Books and go from there.

don't I forgot to mention this on ordering books. You'll need to call the mailroom and find out what their specific rules are on if they have to be paperback or if hardcover books are allowed. It can vary from one facility to another.
