Default Letter Question (can minors write to inmates that are not their parents?)

Hello Everyone,

I have a quick question and wondered if anyone could help me out. I know that prisoners can't receive mail from minors if they are not their own children. A friend of ours whose children were our flower girl and ring bearer in our wedding is sending a letter and wants to enclose pictures that her children drew for my husband. Does anyone know if this is allowed?

Thank you!

My granddaugher drew pictures (she isn't old enough to write yet) that I sent to my son (her uncle) and they went through. The only thing I can tell you is to try and see what happens. The worst they can do is return the letters. But I would definetly try.
Hope that helps.

OK, I will tell her to go ahead and send them, I know they would brighten his day so hopefully they'll allow them through. Thanks!

My daughter is a minor and she has been writing to her friend for 2 years now. I believe you just have to have parental permission.
