Default He went to Southeastern!!!!

I am in shock! My brother went to CRC on Jan 7th and friday they took him to his parent insitution....Southeastern. He was in CRC for 8 days. I thought for sure he would be there for 2-3 months. Has any one else ever heard of such a quick transfer? Does that mean good/bad/anything? I was getting ready to visit him in CRC this tuesday and got a phone call from him today telling me he went to Southeastern friday. Can some one PLEASE tell me what kind of place he is in? I know..prison is prison, but it does not seem as bad as a place as some others. Is this true? Any one else have a loved one there that I can talk to? My heart is racing thinking of my brother going through this alone and I really need to talk to some one who understands. Not many people do. Any input would be really great. TIA

Hi curiousperson, Last Feb. the same thing happened to my son. He went to CRC on Feb. 9th and on Feb.18th he was transferred to his parent prison. I always wondered why it happened so quickly but I never found a reason for it. If you find out why will you please let me know. I know it is almost a year later so at this point it doesn't really matter but I would still like to know why.

I can't answer your questions about Southeastern. I don't know anything about that prison.

Good luck to you and your brother. He is lucky to have his sister looking out for him.

Wink hey

Sci in Lancaster??? My fiance is there. Its okay compared to other prisons. You have to make reservations for appts. Can see him anyday but Tues and Wed. Half day visits on the weekend and during the week all day visits if you want. Can go twice a month. They can call anytime. Each call is like 5 something for 15 min. Need to know anything else. Let me know! Good luck!

I think it depends on if they have any room available as to how fast they move then and transport available. It was quiet awhile before my son was moved. He has been moved twice. Each prison is different. They all have cards for the vending machines. These cards don't work at all prisons. You need to take $5.00 in to purchase the card then $3.00 is put on the card out of the $5.00. It will only hold up to $50.00. You put the money on the card before you go in to visit. You can't take cash in with you. Where my son is they don't have lockers, so you have to lock your purse in your car/trunk. You can wear your coat in and take your driver's license and money for the card. If you want pictures, you need to get a money order. They are $2.00 each where he is. Watch what you wear. They are getting stricter. I don't know if someone is looking at the tapes they make of visits and telling the COs that they are letting in women with too short shirts on or what. I just know that they are sending more out to the cars to change their clothes.
This is the right place to ask questions. You are not alone. We are here for you! Hang in there we all know it is tough!
Take care and come back and ask questions!

Hi there! My husband was actually at CRC for around 2 months (he was quite ready to be moved). But, he did say some guys were moved ALOT more quickly. I think much of it, like Reynne said, is based on what institution has room. I never did get a straight answer as to how exactly they decide where to send the guys, but I think it has to do with: room, length of sentence, & security level.

I know its scary right now but it does get easier. Honestly, getting letters was one of the major ways my husband (me too!) was able to keep a bit of sanity.
