Default MCI CONCORD FIRST VISIT - Need Help!

Hi Everyone!

Glad that I found this forum because I need help! I am going to visit a friend on Friday and I just want to make sure that I get everything right because it is a LONG drive to get there! So can anyone answer these questions for me:

1) Dress Code - what can I wear, what can't I wear. Are they strict? Do I HAVE to tuck in my shirt? (Big UGH if I do!). Any restrictions on shoes?

2) What type of ID's do I need to bring? Is a ID from another state okay? Will I need a backup ID?

3) Can I wear my hair up in a pony tail?

4) Is there a place to put my purse?

5) Can you touch each other? (i.e. hug?)

6) Can you bring money in there?

7) I had charges brought up on me, but I was never convicted of anything. I did probation - but finished that. Will I be able to get in to see him?

8) How early should I get there?

There are so many questions that I have and I am SUPER nervous after reading that the CO's can be jerks!

Thank you SOOOO much for your help!

1) Dress Code - what can I wear, what can't I wear. Are they strict? Do I HAVE to tuck in my shirt? (Big UGH if I do!). Any restrictions on shoes?

Jeans and a plain tee are best the best bet to wear..no shorts nothing revealing, skirts must not be more than 2 inches above the knee, no flip flops sandles are ok if they have the thingee that goes between your toes they must have a back strap...you no longer have to tuck in your shirt

2) What type of ID's do I need to bring? Is a ID from another state okay? Will I need a backup ID?

Drivers license or state id are fine even if they are from another state as long as you live in that state you do not need a back up id

3) Can I wear my hair up in a pony tail?

you can wear your hair up but will have to take it down while going thru security so keep it simple with just a rubber band type holder

4) Is there a place to put my purse?

You will have to put your purse in a locker however do not get a locker until you have been signed in as you will also have to put your id and any jewlery (other than a wedding ring) in the locker that will be 25 cents for the locker

5) Can you touch each other? (i.e. hug?)

Yes you are aloud a brief hug at the beginning and end of the visit at Concord you will be across from each other and must keep your feet behind the line at all times (unless things have changed since the last time I was there)

6) Can you bring money in there?

No money inside the visiting room however you can buy a canteen card from the vending machine in main lobby for 50 cents (machine only takes paper money but I believe you only need a dollar to get a card) than you can put money on the card (up to $30) to buy soda's and munchies while in the visiting room

7) I had charges brought up on me, but I was never convicted of anything. I did probation - but finished that. Will I be able to get in to see him?

As long as they were not felony charges you should not have a problem and should be able to visit

8) How early should I get there?

You can not go into the main lobby more than an hour before visiting is suppose to start there is often people in the parking lot across the street waiting to go inside if it is an hour or more before visiting hours

There are so many questions that I have and I am SUPER nervous after reading that the CO's can be jerks!

Co's are what they are I find if you treat them with respect they treat you with respect some are more hard a** than others but that is every where

Thank you SOOOO much for your help!

I wish you luck with you'r visit ((((Hugs)))) Angel
