Default Questions about Huttonsville

I am going to be visiting Huttonsville for the first time tomorrow...I can't wait to finally see him again!
He was just transferred there on Thursday from Mt. Olive. I tried to call to find out if there was a waiting period before he could receive a visit but there wasn't anyone that could answer the question. So I am hoping there isn't one! I am on his visitation list so I know that isn't a problem.
So now onto my questions...Thank you in advance to anyone that can help!
I know when I visited at Pruntytown I was able to take quarters for vending machines...is it the same at Huttonsville...if so what is the amount allowed?
I read that no underwire bras were allowed. I also know no shorts or pants above the knee or low cut shirts...are there other specifications about clothing?
Thanks again for any help!

you are only allowed to take one quarter and that is for the locker for you to put your belongings in. No food or drink is allowed inside the visiting room. No see through shirts where you can see the bra or low cut shirts, and of course no shorts. I believe you are permitted to wear a skirt but it has to be a long one. Just make sure you have your ID, vehicle registration, and a quarter for the locker. Oh and since you are already on his visiting list and have already been approved then you should have no problem visiting. Hope you have a great visit.

Well I am now going to be visiting Huttonsville again. I received a letter today saying they had put vending machines back in. Has anyone else heard this? He is currently in seg so he heard this out on the yard. If it is true how much am I allowed to take in quarters? Thanks in advance!

Yes, they have vending machines now. I can't remember what the limits were but they have change making machines in the intake room too.

Thanks! I have been there almost every weekend since I first posted this question The limit is $20. The change machine gives you gold dollars & takes up to a $20 bill.

Thanks.
The first time we went after the machines I got a handful of change and when I sat down I put it on the table and slid it over to Mike. He jumped back and stayed back until I picked it back up. Then we walked over to the machines and I told him to push the button for whatever he wanted. He laughed but said "you're determined to get me in big trouble today." They aren't allowed to touch the change or go past the yellow lines a few feet in front of the machines. It's so hard to remember rules when they often don't make sense but I have to keep reminding myself to be careful. He's got to live there.

My boyfriend has warned several of the guys about stepping over the line or handling the money. I am wondering how clear they make the rules to guys that haven't had visits before. Luckily he has gotten their attention before it catches a COs attention. I would hate to see someone lose a visit over something so trivial.

If you have questions about Huttonsville I can try to answer them for you. If I don't know the answer I can ask my boyfriend when he calls. I can answer most visitation questions thou! I hope your time passes quickly!

I ordered two books off Amazon and sent them to him. He told me to send some to him. He never said anything about having to have them preapproved or anything? Do you know anything about this

I have never sent any packages to Huttonsville but my boyfriend has never said they have to be preapproved. The only thing he has ever said is that it has to be sent straight from an approved vendor. I know Amazon is an approved vendor.
The only issue I can see happening is if he would start his seg time before they arrive. I don't think they can receive packages while in seg.

New to all of this.. But can anyone give me some info on visitation at Huttonsville? I have a 2 year old and 3 year old and was wondering if my husband would be allowed to hold them during the visitation??? Are u at least allowed to hold their hand during visit? Any info appreciated. Thanks!!!

You can hold their hands during the visit. The tables are only knee level & the chairs are regular height so it can get uncomfortable bending over. You can take money for the snack machines but he is not allowed to touch the money at all. They have a red line in front of both the soda & snack machines that he is not allowed to cross. I am unsure about him being allowed to hold the kids. I remember someone being told they could not hold a child but I don't know if it was a neice or nephew or something. If you call the prison today they are in visitation until 3:30 & they will answer questions for you.
