Prison Rape and the Dept of Justice

There is a good article on the on-line maganize "The Huffington Post" about the blind eye authorities give to the tragedy of prison rape by prisoners and by guards themselves. There is a law that passed in 2003 creating a commission to look into the problem. As the article points out:

"A law passed in 2003 created an independent commission to develop national standards to address the problem. The commission issued its exhaustive report in June 2009. And the attorney general was required by law to enact new standards by June 23, 2010."

Our attorney General issued a press release saying that he regrets not being able to meet the Congress's deadline mentioned above. Read the entire article about this violation of human rights at:
