Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Users with email addresses from yahoo.com, yahoo.co.uk and aol.com will no longer be able to use them to create a new account.
We have had a long-standing problems with these mail services and have found that it is almost impossible to send out account activations to new users who have Yahoo or AOL providers.

Please use an alternative email address; hotmail, gmail etc.

Default Getting a local number?
I am still trying to figure out a good way to let my MWI call me. Does anyone know of a good website to get a local number? those I have checked out so far (Vumber etc) only offer the service for US residents but I am in Germany. There's a couple of websites out there but does anyone know any that are reliable?
I realize I still need to sign up with Correctional Billing Services as well.

Thank you but I didn't want an adapter to be added - just the number plus I don't think this will work for me as they only offer thsi in the UK, US and Canada?

I never used an adapter but i did it online and just forwarded it to my house phone so i did no work with anything. When they sent it i never even opened the box. I thought it was available anywhere but could be wrong.

Did you have a phone/contract with them before? The site was kind of confusing, I was not sure which of the offered "Plans" to use..

No i didn't. I had a house phone with Bell Canada and set up Vonage online to get a PA number. I think it was like twenty bucks a month or something. I'm not sure I have a horrible memory lol I know I was sick of paying twenty bucks for a fifteen minute phone call so thought I'd try anything

Default I use Direct Prison Connection
Try Direct Prison Connection. (directprisonconnection.com) They do local numbers and international service too. They have saved me a ton.

You may try Skype and get a phone number local to the Prison. We have used Skype successfully from Europe, and the cost is US$6.00 per month. All you need is speakers and a microphone on the computer....

I'm using it, and it works quite well....

THanks! I realized though that I need to set up an account with the
prison's phone system (in this case CBS) so that does not work for me!

I have just set up a call system to speak with my baby... im in Scotland and hes in CEN California... i set up the account with the following link...

It was so easy to set up, i now have a local number and its live and workin, only took a couple of days to set up... i only did this over a week ago so i have not spoke to my baby yet... i sent him out the new number last Tuesday so jst waiting now The only downside is that as the number is a live american number, i get wrong numbers to my home phone and it takes credit off our call account when i recieve a wrong number... Roll my calls from my baby!!!

I hope you get a system sorted soon and get your calls ...
