Default My son has multiple charges in Riverside County

My son is charged with carjacking, strong armed robbery, receiving known stolen property, taking veh without owners consent, and prior prison within 5 years. This is in Riverside County, CA The evidence is 2 eye witnesses which say it was pitch black dark and only got a glimpse, and his phone records that show that he made calls to victims (delivering medical majuarana) (blocked his number out) right before robbery. He was offered 13 years. I am trying to research other cases but unable to find any. Should he take deal? What is the sentencing for those charges? He did not admit to the crimes and is saying he is innocent but I am very afraid for his life. He told the detective, who he allowed to uses his phone and did not realize the guy was gone with his phone. The description from the witnesses is the exact description of the guy who my son says he allow to use his phone and he took off with it. The police arrested that guy two months later. He had the gun in his car and admitted to the crime. Now they are saying that my son is one of the suspects and want to list them as co defendants. I can not afford a attorney and can not afford to bail him out. He has been in trouble before for petty theft and possession of majuarana for sales. Is there anyone out there going thru something simular?

There is no way to research similar cases. Such a database does not exist. An attorney who does a lot of work in that court can do the best job of determining what an "average" similar case might carry. However, these case facts aren't so common that there are thousands of comparison cases. The might not even be a dozen,

A "good deal" is knowing the worst case, the realistic worse case, the probable post trial result, the best probable result, and the absolute best case result. Those numbers, when compared, tell you if it is a good deal. The defense lawyer will work with the defendant to determine the value of the pretrial offer, and what chances exist of an offer to improve or get worse.
You don't have enough information to even hazard a meaningful guess about what is or isn't a good deal.

If he has a Public Defender, chances are nearly certain he'll have an attorney who has abundant courtroom experience and who probably has logged many hundreds of hours in the courts where he's being prosecuted.

Sounds like a case that'll be in the courts for a while. There will be a lot of material to gather about the other guy who has already been convicted. That should be an interesting interview.
