Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

My fiance was recently sentenced to 10yrs for attempted armed robbery and 2yrs for criminal conspiracy which gave him a total of 12ys.He wrote me and told me that if he gets his ged that will knock his time down to 65% and if he works also it would knock it down to 51% and he is eligible for parole after 10yrs which is confusing. What i am wanting knw is if this is really true and will he be able to parole out of serving a third of his sentence or will he have to serve his 85% for his attempted armed robbery first.
