Default Chit Chat Thread ~ July 2011

Hi everyone, so what does everyone think of our new Rovers Return Isnt it brilliant ? Thanks for doing this Rachel

So as with all the other forums we thought we would have a chit chat thread, somewhere you can come to relax, vent, share stories anything really.

I will start, I had a major tantrum at my kids this weekend, they really know what buttons to press sometimes. Still its all calmed down now... until the next time LOL

I also had some great mail from all my pals and a lovely letter from my guy

Hooray!
The first proper pub on PTO!

Thank heavens for pork scratchings and bottles of WKD!

My weekend was pretty good, the weather was great over here in Suffolk and we had a friend over.
We sat in the garden drinking Magners and then watched the boxing (that was a bloody waste of money on Sky!).
Lazy Sunday and then back to work today.

Hope it stays sunny tomorrow as I want to put my washing out!

Well you both sound like you had quite a weekend, one way or the other. Mine was the usual washing and shopping, then the heavens opened yesterday when I was cutting the hedge and I got soaked (but it was a good excuse to stop!).

Got the day off work today, so I'm celebrating with 2 hours on the library computer and a Costa coffee.

I have spent this weekend, doing my son and DIL's washing because they have been on holiday for a week. I also had my grandaughter to stay which was lovely, she really is such a little character.

Today, I am catching up on here and then I am going to write some letters to my pals.

Great to see you in here Stoneite

Hey you, Stoneite!
Great to see you here!!

My weekend was pretty good; I helped out at a church fete and absolutely loved listening to a brass band whilst the sun was shining.
Yesterday I sang in the choir, visited a good friend for a chin wag and watched TV.
A really fab weekend for me.

Today started pretty well, too! Hubby brought me a cup of coffee in bed so I sat there like Lady Muck with a coffee and the paper. Ah, bliss.....

Ooooooo, I'll have a Pimms please and a packet of Walkers Salt and Vinegar before I go to bed

So good to FINALLY get myself over to the UK forums. Am looking forward to checking more out in the future.

I agree His#1, storms are going around. There was an amazing dust storm in Phoenix recently. I had to go dust the inside of my mail box out, it was thick with dust!!

Have a great day!

I had to reread that line a couple of times:

Stop that dusting nonsense immediately.
You are British!
Get someone in to do it for you.
Good grief! LOL

My husband wasn't around, and my toddler couldn't reach, and I value my friends too much to add dust all over their mail (actually I was scared the mail folk wouldn't read the addresses correctly )

I bought a bottle of Pimms, Lisa. I had to go to a special shop. They had run out of Plymouth Gin though My son has been telling me the weather has been rather nice in England. He is there until start of August when my sister brings him home, he is loving his "foreign" holiday with the Grandparents

I've just discovered a wasps' nest in the brickwork at the side of the house. So now I have to send for a Man to come and deal with it and you know what Men are like, they never turn up when they're supposed to and then I'll feel guilty thinking about all the poor dead wasps ... maybe I'll just pretend I didn't see it.

We have had some beautiful weather but its forecast to change this weekend That is just typical because our church is holding its summer fete tomorrow. Why do I get the feeling God has a sense of humour

Same here! It's our village fete tomorrow and I have visions of collapsing stalls, waterlogged cakes and general mayhem. Why do we keep trying to have outdoor events in this country?

Piddling profusely here as well, but Journey2 is quite right, we Brits are made of tough stuff, we can get through this. At least we're giving God a good laugh. Hope your fete goes well too, Lisa.

The fete was good even though it rained all the time. And yes I brought cake and loads of toys and bric a brac. And I won some notecards in the raffle

LOL! Glad your fete went well but I'm sorry it kept raining. Amazingly after all that rain we had a mostly sunny afternoon and a good time was had by all.

You think the Terrible Twos are bad?
Wait for the Traumatic Threes and the F*cking Awful Fours!
LOL

BTW surely it is time for elevenses? Time to get a brew on!
Hope your Monday flies by.

My 24 yr old daughter came down to stay this weekend; she actually makes the toddlers look easy to look after!
But it was so great to have her here, though.
It's grey and drizzly outside; the sun is trying to break through and failing.
Making a curry for tea tonight as something needs to be warm round here, it certainly isn't the weather!

In North Staffs we call mischievous little monsters "rumtyfizzers". Hope he's better today (or does that make him even harder to keep up with?)
