Default Holmes County, anyone?

I'm looking for info about Holmes County CF in Lexington. My guy is trying to find out about some of the regionals/county prisons because the private prison he's at now (Wilkinson County) is a mess. Really corrupt in the last year. He is looking for a calmer environment. He's been locked up 13 years already so he knows how to survive but he'd like a place where we can have longer visits (I come from out of state and usually get only 3 hours) and he can get a job to help pass his time more quickly. I heard from another PTO member whose hubby was at Holmes several years ago, that it was one of the better regionals. I'd love to hear from you if you have a recent experience with a loved on at Holmes County.

Thanks,

Cindy

My oldest son's father is there. He was there for about 2 1/2 years before and has been back for a couple months after 2 years at other facilities. He requested to go back there.

Visits are 6 hours twice a month for zones A-D and 4 times a month for E zone. Jobs are scarce and the waiting list is usually long to get one, so there's a lot of downtime. There's also very little offered in classes and programs. The staff is good, overall. Of course, there's always going to be a few guards on a power trip, but there's not many. The warden, asst warden & sgts are quick to deal with problems or issues. I've found the asst warden the easiest to talk to and very understanding. The case manager seems to have multiple personalities because she'll be super sweet one day, then rude, mean and hateful the next, so I try not to deal with her if there are ways around it.

Overall, it's a decent facility. One of the better ones I've dealt with. I joke it's more like daycare than prison because it's laid back. Visits are very laid back and they don't mess with anyone really. If you kiss or touch too mch, they'll say something but are nice about it.
