Question T.A.R.P Offenders?

Anyone know about TARP, is this Transitional and Relapse Program?? If so, what does it consist of?

I’ve tried to look into it, but…..I don’t know. Maybe the Gateway foundation which over off of I-30 & Peak in Dallas near the Cotton Bowl would be considered a tarp program. It provides temporary housing and substance abuse curriculum for those being released on parole with substance abuse FIs that require a halfway house stay be involved the first 6 months or so.

Yeah that's kinda what I got after extensive research was maybe a treatment program. What is really crazy is, he was arrested for a DWI and had not had one in over 20 years. He is not an alcoholic, nor a substance abuser. He actually got stopped for doing a rolling stop through a red light at 10:30 at night and that led to this. If one only knew in advance the consequences of certain decisions. Know what I am saying? Thanks for your info. Marty.

Does he have a probation sentence attached to it? If yes, this may be the relapse program run through the SAFP units. It's a four month program geared for relapse and prevention, rather than the 6 month SAFP.

Thanks for responding WilcoMom, I am not sure what the deal is, my son was at medical and during the conversation the lady told my son he was a "Tarp offender" and said something vague about relapse program and would not elaborate on it. His PED date is May of 2012, but his PRD is 2025, so possibly they will put him in the program and then he will be on parole. Who knows , it's all a roll of the dice isn't it? I just had never heard of that before now.
