Old Colony Correctional Visits

Hi,

My dad is incarcerated at OCCC and I am going to visit him soon. I have never visited a prison before so I am very, very nervous. I have no idea what to expect, so I'm hoping someone can give me some information. I already read the documents on the MASS DOC website, what I'm looking for is some first-hand information and advice on procedures and such... I basically would like to know what happens from the moment I walk in the door, and what to do. My dad says the CO's won't be very helpful, and will treat me as if I've visited before and should know all the procedures. I'm sorry if my request sounds silly, but I'm very nervous. I'm happy to help those who have someone where my baby is at. Well I hope u have a wonderful visit I was nervous my 1st time up but then I was okay once he was there. u will be ok

My boyfriend is in Dartmouth and I went last week for the first time and they made me cry. Any advice is welcome. I don't know how long i'm going to be in this position. Thanks
