My husband is at this unit and has been there a while. We visit often and there are a lot of elderly inmates here. There is not much education or classes offered but it is very laid back. They call it the Cadillac of units because it is so quite. It is very old and very small. The staff in general are all nice, but as for as the rules it depends who is working. Not sure where you are coming from but its around an hour away from me and I'm off of 290 near Cypress. Hope this helps. It seems like we maybe the only two on here. I debated about registering because I did not see anyone else from this unit, but now here you are! We have been doing this for a while to. My husband has been in since he was 16, he is now in his mid 30's!

Wow!Thanks for the info. I actually did go to see my dad last Sunday. It wasnt what I expected. He has been to many many units over the years so this one was surprising laid back as you say.He did tell me he is in the best place he could be in because it is quiet and laid back...I am on the Northside -Conroe area so its about and hour and twenty minutes from me.Glad you registered.I have been on here before years ago but since forgot my login info with an older email address and yea I would say were about the only two with loved ones at this unit I guess...

I cut down visits to every other week because of financial reasons. Do you mind me asking your age? I am 33 and our son is 17. He has been in since I was pregnant but we still try our hardest to be a family! They need the visits, the mail and luckily now they have payphones!

When my dad was in Huntsville I went every weekend then he moved to Woodville and I went every two weeks then I had a bit of some financial issues myself so I cut back to once a month now that he is in Angleton I will probably go every month or every two just depends....I just turned 36.Like I said my dad has been in for 25 years..I was 11 years old.My children go to see him with me time to time. Its hard but you have to keep the visits going along with the writing.I havent used the payphones yet but I hope to soon.My dad always feels like a burden so he doesnt want me to pay for the phone calls even though I tell him it doesnt matter....so we havent gotten to use them yet.Its amazing that you have been there for your husband all the time he has been in.

It was not exactly like that. All though I always kept our son in his life. Around five years ago we got back in touch and my heart always belonged to him! Love is strange let me tell you. I talked to my husband last night and he told me he talks to a couple of older people I wonder if he knows your dad. he is known as the younger one all though he is 34! I would love to keep in touch with you. I know that our circumstances are not the same all the way but its good to speak to someone who understands the situation! ill PM you my number if you want to talk ANYTIME please call or text me!

Default Have a brother in Wayne Scott

My brother was just moved to this unit... I need to go visit him soon...haven't seen him in years as he was too far away to visit. Now he is 2 hours away and I need to go...
I am assuming visitation is on weekends and will probably call to get the details before driving over there...
Just wanted to say hi!
Terri
