Default 50 Day Countdown

Hi All,

Well I thought i'd join in on the fun and share my countdown. As you can see from my signature Im beginning my countdown at 50 more days...Oh I can not wait! Here's to no more lonely nights, going to events alone and being in a perpetual bad mood due to our wonderful prison system. I stopped the other day in the middle of my busy life with the world speeding around me and finally took a breath and realized "wow" we made it. Here are a few things I have learned along the way.
1. Dont count your chickens before they hatch, the DOC will throw some nasty curveballs at you when you least expect it.
2. Patience...patience and more patience.
3. There is good in all this bad, my loved one will get to come home
4. When those people who you thought loved you the most disappeared or had no faith in you and didn't believe you would make it, its ok, because believing in yourself and your partner is what will really get you through.
5.When you love someone, you know that waiting for them is not a choice it is just what needs to be done.
6. Your allowed to fight and argue with your loved one while they are in prison, it may be more expensive to do so and you may have to do it through a series of 15 minute phone calls and and letters, but a relationship is a relationship no matter where you are you are entitled to all the perks, you may have to wait for some of the better ones but they will come.
7. If he asks you to marry him while he is in there, it does count don't let anyone tell you different.
8. People will wonder why you are with someone in "prison", they will try to convince you that you are better than your partner, but a person's value does not go down just because they are in prison. They are worth the same as anyone else including me.
9. Did I say patience?
10. Dont drink and drive, especially in Arizona.

Now while these things may not apply to everyone else or you have a difference of opinion, its ok because these things helped me get through. I have learned so many more things mainly from him and so long as the things you do to find your way through this mess of our justice system don't hurt others or you, then proceed even if only one day at a time.

To those women who have their loved one close to the gate, smile a little brighter because its almost over. And to those women with some time left to wait, just remember you'll get your turn too. I never really write on here much but I am so grateful this site exists.

And a special thank you to the love of my life coming home in 50 days. Not everyone is equipped to deal with my kind of crazy. I guess we must be made for each other. Genesis 2 21~24.

OH, YES, I have seen this too and it is so very informative and scares the hell out of me as well. Thanks for sharing with us...we should all read this a couple times a year, as I see comments in this, that I didn't think applied to me a year ago....and now, I'm thinking....OMG seriously!?!! I think we have all seen changes in our loved ones...I know I would NEVER be the same, if I was locked up for a year, or 2 or more!!

Thank you! No more years, no more months. My loved one comes home in days and it feels very weird to say it out loud. It's all so unreal. The whole time all I could think was this was never going to end, this is taking so long. Now Im looking back thinking wow that went fast 2 1/2 years gone already? And as I look forward, Im thinking OMG, I still have so much to do! AHHH! There's not enough time! HeHe...but then I remember he's coming home and "I" dont have to do anything anymore. "We" will have all the time in the world to get things done...together. Yayy!!
