Default What kind of post was that?

I have come to love and respect PTO and all the characters that participate on here but I swear some of these posts really make me as myself what is the real issue behind this post.

I have come across some people that are really looking for sincere advice rather its what they want to hear or not want to hear they dig through it all and come up with an answer that fits them and their situation and they are thankful for the help.

I have come across some posts that screams I am completely brainwashed. Those posts turn out to be really sad because before its all said and done you find out the person is more lost then the inmate. You want to help them because you see the danger miles away but the more you say the more they hear he loves you, he is your knight in shining armor and don't listen to these haters.

Then you have the posts that wants nothing but attention. They know while they are typing it no one is going to agree with them and that even makes it more fun for them. They feel they have control because they are going to pull you in to their childish drama and those are the posts that usually get the most attention. The more juicy it is the more attention they get. The convo goes back and forth until PTO finally closes the thread but not before everyone is worked up.

Last you have the real posts that gives you inspiration to keep going or leaving. Its just people putting their feelings out there and their story and even when folks want to create chaos out of that too they are strong enough to see through others misery and stand firm. So PTO to me is like a big pot of Gumbo. Everyone is a special ingredient that we need to create this wonderful pot of juicy, spicy, fire of goodness and for that I thank you all. I will continue to read and sometimes I will say to myself what kind of post was that!

I think I kind of get what you're saying. I'm not even going to state my opinion about half of these posters because this will be another closed thread. But this forum is open to anyone in the world to respond and anyone seeking advice should always take it with a grain of salt. Something about this forum seems so one dimensional to me compared to other forums about other topics. But, aye, I take what I can from it. Its one of a kind place and it helps me, sort of.

I completely understand what you are saying. I believe the reason that I love this forum is because there is something here for everyone. It is like a big pot of Louisiana gumbo. Just stir it up and see what comes to the top! Some days, I feel so sorry for my self. Then I read posts from someone who is having a severe problem and I feel so small. When my husband tells me about how something will play out, I feel so proud when I can say "Oh, I understand that, I read about it on the forum". Some posts make me happy, some make me sad. Sometimes, I get so frustrated or I wonder why are they even on here? But it takes all of us to carry this on. Yep! I get ya!

I'm with you... You had me at gumbo. Lol. Yes I'm in Louisiana. I only add my two cents when I can make sense of what's going on in those posts. I stay out of the ones where they get all worked up.

In Louisiana, we do love our gumbo! lol We know that it takes many different things thrown into the pot to make it interesting. That's what this forum is all about to me. Very interesting! Gotta love it!

Now I want to know what post....did I miss it?

I totally agree with you. I sometimes sit here and shake my head....wondering....what in Sam Hill!!? This has got to be a joke....but turns out sometimes the OP is dead serious. But I guess that's what makes PTO go round huh? lol

You are right! Sometimes you can just see the train fixing to derail! You feel so helpless! But the great thing is there are people on here that are willing to pick you up when you fall!

I don't want to get in trouble on PTO so I can't pin point what post it is but I will say her "issue" definitely allowed her to point out the obvious. I don't even see the post on here no more but hers is not the first and it definitely won't be the last.

Oh no...no. I didn't mean to tell me....that's a definite against the PTO law kinda thing...as tee pointed out. I was just showing my curiosity side ...hehe. But there's sure to be another. In fact, I'm sure some of MY posts make people say WTH is wrong with her!

Yep I am sure mines does too because there is definitely different sides of me depending who I am talking about. I don't think its a bad thing though it keeps the site interesting, thats all I was stating. If everyone pretty much talked about the same lovey dovey mess would probably wouldn't be as big as we are. I read posts that remind me where I been and how far I have come. I read posts to educate myself and just to lend support.

Yeah, I know what you mean. There are posts where I feel like I'm from a different planet from the OP. It's cool, though. I like learning how others experience this prison thing. In the drama posts there are always good-hearted women trying to speak some sense. That warms my heart. I think there are so many great women on PTO. I really like how we try to take care of each other.

Now, I'm hungry for some of that La Gumbo! I haven't had any that's close to decent since I moved to Cali from Texas. Oh, how I miss it....

I just want to let ya'll know that normally I would delete this entire thread because we don't like to take drama from one thread and move into another - I don't think I need to explain why we can't have drama flowing from one thread to another, to another. But since (so far) no one has called out a particular poster or thread - it's okay (again for now)

As far as "some posts" - It is what it is. If I had a nickel for every "some post" I've seen since I've been here, well, I wouldn't be here. I'd be driving my bugati to my beach house having just gotten off my private plane.

In other words, lot's of posts are "some posts" - Yanno?

But the truth is, it takes all kinds. Like Miss A said -it's like a big, crazy family. You need the drunk uncle, the crazy aunt, the slutty cousin and the sweet grandma.

Variety is the spice of life, no?

And with MOD hat on I plead - do NOT start talking about specific members, posts or threads.

Thanks!

some of them all you can do is think "is this serious"????? it has gotten fairly quiet as far as off the wall post but I saw a couple this week that I just want to reach through the screen and shake some common sense in them.

Sometimes the writing on the wall needs to be written in crayon instead of pencil
