Hello I am all new to this my man is facing manslughter charges and i dont know what is going on i need good people who are going through this too to talk to. i am so scared and confused not only for him but for my self and the kids. If any one out there can give me advice i would love to here it. I love him so much he is my life my soul my heart and i know it is going to be heard but i will wait for him how ever long it takes. If any one could please tell me how long he is facing and if he will get sent out of state that would help and i dont know if it is volantary or involantry manslughter. Were from michigan.

What makes you ask if he will be sent out of state? Did the crime happen in Michigan?There aren't very many posters here anymore but Welcome to our little group. The first thing is to just breath. Our justice system moves slowly. If you get all upset and hold your breath worrying you'll just pass out and look silly.

thank you for responding.yes it happend in michigan and the out of state he said cause of over crouding. i am so scared he tells me very little cause he dont know him self. it is nice to talk to some one about this. i have no family or friends its just me him and kids. how can i be strong for him and kids?

It depends on the actual charge...some involuntary manslaugter can be 5-15 years on the inside. Drinking and causing death is usually 7-10 or so years.

If you can get more information that would be helpful. Does he have a lawyer? you can have your guy tell his lawyer to discuss the case. was he just arrested or is he being sentenced soon?

Lots of questions i know but its the only way to get answers is to ask questions.

Michigan is not sending inmates out to be housed in other states. We have something like 30 empty prisons that could be utilized much less expensively than renting space in another state. We are over crowded because they are cramming more guys into ever smaller spaces so they can get out of paying to staff and run more facilities.

Thank u for leting me know that but i really dont know whats going on whit him right now he was going to talk to his lawer on thursday and i have not heard from him since i dont know if he is dead or alive or locked up he is not answering his phone and i have none of his family phone numbers. I just wished i knew what was going on if he does not want to be with me i wish he would just call me or text me. Not knowing is the worset thing he can do to me right now.

You should call the local jail and see if he's there! If not, call his lawyer! The best thing for you to do right now, is to stay level headed! Try to keep that head above water! I know it feels like you are drowning, but he probably feels the same! You have to try and support him b/c he will need you and that means you have to take care of you too!!! So TAKE A DEEP BREATH! It's going to be ok... not knowing is the worst part, but you will know answers soon!
