Default So scared (sentencing in 4 days)

I'm guessing this will end up being more of a rant than anything...so thanks to anyone who reads on. As I've said...my boyfriend is out on bail awaiting sentencing. He was originally supposed to go back in January but its been postponed due to pending charges in another county. His lawyer has been calling the district attorney trying to get things moving but I guess there was a switch in d.a's and he isn't getting any answers. So now we're worried if he leaves, serves his sentence and then comes back he'll just get arrested again. I don't know why they won't just wrap this up. I hope I'm making sense...it's a very confusing case honestly. He's scheduled to be sentenced the 4th and we're still not sure if it'll get adjourned again or if he'll leave...I'm so confused, scared and angry...not knowing whether to prepare to say goodbye or not...i doubt these other charges will drop so if they leave it open while he's incarcerated then he'll go in as soon as he goes out. Basically they were all supposed to run concurrent but again...the d.a won't answer. This life is too frustrating...I'm just at a loss. And the crazy thing he isn't even gone yet!

I think waiting to know what is going to happen is the hardest part. Once the decision is made one gets on with the business of doing time and supporting their loved one. Hang in there and I wish the best possible outcome for you and yours.

Tomorrow is the day of his sentencing and I will say a prayer that things work out in a way that won't disrupt your lives too much. Hopefully everything will be run concurrent. Usually offenses are, especially if they are related in some way. In any event I wish you luck and you guys do have my heart felt prayer going out right now. Let us know what happens.

Thanks guys...it turns out he will be leaving tomorrow morning. His lawyer finally called early yesterday and said he couldn't get it postponed. I'm heartbroken. I really really can't believe this time tomorrow my love won't be here.

He ended up getting 4 years. I'm really hoping that means he'll be out in 2 and a half to 3 years...miss him already...

Did he settle both cases? Did they run concurrent? Doesn't NY have a 1/3 goodtime law? That would mean 2 years 8 months on a 4 year sentence. Goodluck!
