Default I need information on the SAFP program for my son

Well I am new here and really just hoping to get some info on Safp. Currently my son is in jail but I know because of all of his charges he will deff. be doing more time. I am really hoping he will get into safp. He needs it very bad. He says he knows he needs help that he cannot do it on his own. He has hurt everyone in his family. When I say hurt i mean emotionally and phycologly. His father and I are divorced. We both love our son very much but because of his lifestyle that we just could not accept. Meaning the drugs the drug friends the lies we had distanced ourselvs from him. He has broken the law not sure how many times. Something he was raised to believe was bad. He does Meth and pot and the last I heard he was now shooting up and that scared me so bad. I hit my knees and said omg no. I don't want him to die. I would rather him be locked up in prison than go to his funeral.

He is only 22 years old. He has never been married or had any kids. I guess I just want to know more about safp and what kind of rehab he might get there? So if anyone can give me any info. on what it's like for them there that would help the family know more.

Thank You,
Stacy

I am so sorry that your family is having to go thru this heartache! I am very glad that you found PTO. It will help you to know that you have other's to talk to who are walking where you walk right now. Someone will come along soon and help you with your questions. In the meantime, God Bless and encourage you!

I am so sorry to hear about your troubles. I can empathize as we have been fighting a drug battle with my nephew since age 14 (he's now 19). I can't help you with your question but I wanted to say how very sorry I am.

For others who have young males (16-21) who are struggling with drugs, alcohol or other addicitions, my family found the Paul Anderson Youth Home in south Georgia. They are wonderful people who truly care about your loved one. They have a 90% success rate and less than 2% recividism over a 50 year period!! Their program averages 18-24 months and is accepted 98% of the time in lieu of jail/prison time.

Stacy - good luck to you.
