Exclamation Whats allowed in RIKERS?

ok so my daughter's father was remanded after his like MILLIONTH screw up while on probation..so now hes in the AMKC on Rikers for 60 days. Im gonna send him a package but i can't seem to get a straight answer on what he is allowed...like i know paper back books, paper, stamps...

but like what color clothing is NOT PERMITTED?? I know he's allowed like 4 shirts, 4 pairs of socks, 4 pairs of underwear, pants/shorts and whatever...but i keep getting different answers as to whether certain colors are permitted or not!!! I do NOT have the money to be sending and returning packages and making trips to and from the jail.......i live ALL THE WAY OUT BY exit 62 on the LIE.

PLEASE, if ANYONE can help me with this it'd be GREATLY appreciated. I mean yeah i am SO BEYOND PISSED OFF at him, and im so fed up with the lying, stealing, and CONSTANT heroin use...for gods sake he just HAD to freakin relapse right before our daughters 3rd birthday...he missed xmas, thanksgiving, fathers day of last year...new years of this year...all cause of heroin (he was upstate in a rehab) he JUST got out this March and now this *sigh* but as mad as i am i understand how HORRIFIC county jail is (back in 03 i did 11 and a half months in Nassua county jail but have never been back and have been in recovery for over 5 years now)....especially when you have nothing. I put over $100 in his commisary...but he needs CLOTHES, so PLEASE...someone let me know what i can send. Thanks!

Hi. My son is in EMTC. Before he was sentenced, I could bring in clothes for him, but only white or gray or beige. After he got sentenced, I could only bring him underclothes, and only white or gray. Hope this helps.

My boyfriend is at Rikers. Only white and grey. nothing with any pockets. no hoods. nothing with metal or strings on it. just think of it this way, anything you could do something clever with, make sure its not on there. Even if it is allowed, its just not worth the chance of you wasting your money. For example when I sent sweatpants I had to cut out the grommets and take out the drawstring.

If I am not mistaken underwear can be whatever color, however I always stick with white or grey to be safe.

No words or graphics. Solid only.

Toiletries absolutely not. They have to by them from commissary. Stamps have to be on the envelopes when you send them. I believe this is a new policy but they made me do it last week. Below I've copies and pasted the permissible and non-permissible items directly from the NYC DOCS website. I hope this helps and good luck with everything.
