Each state has different visitation rules so I am moving this to the Maine Forum maybe someone there could help you better....

Default Not Sure about specifics....but

Not sure about Maine....But, in Oklahoma, the rule was if you were on probation you would have to have special approval from the warden of the facility you are visiting after your own probation officer has given approval. If it is a case of being in prison and now released, I think there is some sort of wait time and/or special approval from the warden of the prison you would be visiting. If it is a case of spending the night in city or county jail for something, it has to be reported on the visitor approval form and then they would do the normal process of whether to approve you or not. Again, I'm sure that would depend on the warden/approval board of the prison you are visiting and also the circumstances surrounding the visit. Most wardens/approval processes are sped up if the inmate is sick or terminally ill or if the visitor is a close relative who is terminally ill. Hope that helps.

From what I have found through dealing with visitation issues of two brothers in prison, the bottom line is, it really depends on the warden/approval process of the specific prison and the security level of the inmate.

You don't say which facility your b/f is in, but here is a link to all of the facilities and there you will find information on visiting:

http://www.state.me.us/corrections/Facilities.htm

After a quick look it seems that you must fill out an application which can take up to 6 weeks to be approved.

You may want to contact the facility directly and ask about policy.

Good luck.

You will have to fill out an application first off and be HONEST! Secondly, if you are on probation, you will need to have prior authorization from the facility and your PO.

Hope this helps.
