Hi Kelly
I moved your questions to Death row questions and answers.

yes you are allowed to visit, what state is he in, and we will be able to help you out more on the visitation process.
There is no average length, it depends on your friends appeals, where he is at with his appeals, and I pray, the best outcome for his appeals, that he will be taken off death row.
Ask any questions you like here at all!! Talk about it as much as you need to as well. Thats what we are here for

There are many many things different from how DR inmates are treated and housed then with GP. How different depends on which State he is housed in.
All DR are held in security and kept away from GP. Some DR are allowed out for a few hours a day, never with GP. Some are allowed only out a hour, when staff wants them out.
Almost every State is different, so if you tell us what State we can tell you more specific.

Ditto. State by state, it's different.
The DR guys have more sensory deprivation, so the little things are HUGE. But probably bigger hearts. They can be the best friend you've ever had.
Florida allows black & white tv's and radios. Some get newspapers and share them. They are lucky in that they do have the cell to themselves. That's the good news and the bad news.

my husband is on death row in alabama. he gets to go outside for 1 hour a day if the weather permits and if the guards feel up to it.the other 23 hours he is confined to his cell.they watch movies on their tv's if they have the connection.he sees all the new releases on movies.he gets to have 4 magazine subscriptions.the rest of the day he spends writing me, exercising, or on the phone with me.we get 6 hour visits every friday.unfortunately i dont get to go every friday.they r contact visits.u can send him money orders if u'r on his funds list, they can only add or take someone off the list's such as phone and funds every 6 months.and by the way he never discusses "THE DATE"that is a touchy subject neither one of us want to address even though we know it will come one day.he has not been set a date.i pray i never live to see the day.i would die on the inside.literally. good luck with your pen-pal .
