Default I don't know how to feel....???

Ok, in another thread of mine I stated that a new lawyer found reason for appeal for my hubby. He gave me a GUARANTEE that this WILL go back to court and my hubby will get reduced time, possibly time served and come home by the end of this year, which is also what God has told me........BUT, this lawyer wants $3500 and his parents don't have it I sure as heck don't have it, I have 3 kids to support and I don't know what to do. I am trying to stay calm, but the more I think about it the more I get upset. Where am I going to get this kind of money?? The lawyer said he will take 1/2 ($1750) now and the other 1/2 in 2 months, but what if I don't have that kind of money in 2 months?? What am I going to do?? anyone have anything to share about this, has anyone else been thru this and have miracles happened for you??????

Thanks for letting me vent, I don't know where I would be without PTO!!!

Megan

I havent been in this situation, but I was also going to suggest getting a loan. Also I wanted to say...that what is meant to be will be. Try not to make yourself upset over it because in all reality it is out of your hands. I wish you the best and send you positive thoughts.

I have been in a situation where an atty. guaranteed that he could help us, but after doing some research and talking to him a little more there was really no guarantee at all just a good feeling he had hoping I would give him $500.00 to start with and payments on the rest which was unknown.
I really don't see how an atty. can guarantee anything, but I could be wrong.
God is the only guarantee we have. Just pray and he will guide you through this.
Remember he never gives you more than you can handle.
Our prayers are with you and your family.
It is sad that the justice system will not allow justice unless the price is right.
Our freedom is based on how much it is worth to us and that is sad.
Good luck
stay strong and keep your head up

Have you tried a PRO Bono lawyer I know it's a shot in the dark there But a try! Also Have a sale, borrow if you can, work out a different payment plan! Ask the parents to help in a payment plan and any other family members. Also be careful through, some lawyers will only take your money! Talk in depth with this guy! Check out what he's saying, look up ruling, etc, etc, on what case< his aguegment> does he think he can make this happen? And always remenber if it will be then it will be PRAYING FOR YOU!

Yes, I have and I am currently dealing with almost the exact thing. All I can say if it is God's will he will make it available to you. In my situtation, there are no gaurentees and the money was alot more. I had to come up with $15,000 for his fee and another $10,000 in fine money. I was fortunate enough to have a sister and brother and inlaw that offered to pay for the attorney and my husband's mother cashed in on some of her retirement money. I have put my faith in God that he will handle this situation. I know it is hard. I had to come up with all that in a months time, and I was freaking out. And as of right now he has all the money and we are still in limbo. Hang in there. And I will be praying for you too.

Well, here's the thing, I have researched this crap for the past year and I have looked at case law that could prove that my hubby was sentenced under the WRONG statute....and the lawyer confirmed that my research paid off.....my hubby was sentenced wrongly. However...his brother in law and sister have cash coming out of their cash, but they don't like me and they won't get a hold of me...they will want to talk to this lawyer and blah blah blah...they won't let me handle things. Anyway....they were willing to fork out $5000 jsut for someone to OPEN The file, this lawyer that I have now researched this whole thing before "taking" the case. He told me that if he didn't feel confident that he could win, he wouldn't take my money. So, I just have to find the dern money, yes....DERN. I am from the south....

Anyway...thanks so much for all your prayers, I really appreciate ALL of you!!! I just wish I knew what to do. UGH!!! Patience always KILLS ME!!! It is a virtue that I do not have and God is hitting me hard with the tests for patience.

Thanks again,
Megan

Tonyswife, if his sister and brother-in-law, have the money, WELL let them in your circle!
And let them send the money right to the lawyer and include them on whats going on as much as you can This may be a way to find a new relationship between you to!! Good Luck

Hey Tonyswife,

If you have to play nice play nice. If they don't like you so what do what you have to do to get your husband home. If they want to talk to the lawyer and take over let them, so long as they get your hubby home! Swallow that pride, which is something that we have to do alot in this situation. We swallow it to get the extra call, to get the extra time on a visit or to get them fair treatment. Honey do what you have to do.

Seems like when I was in school to become a paralegal, I read that lawyers aren't allowed to "guarantee" you anything. I think it has something to do with their feduciary duty...sorry but it's all foggy now. Make sure you check this lawyer out before you give any $$$. Check your local bar assoc. or ask someone you know who has used this lawyer before.

Well, I have checked this guy out and he really didn't say HE guaranteed, he just says that he is confident. Well, I can't get a hold of his bro or sis.....they work all over on the UNIVERSOUL Circus, they RUN the show. So.....I can't get their cell phone number b/c Tony's mom insists that their phones don't work, but yet my niece says she gets a hold of her mom ALL THE TIME. I know God will work this out, but I just can't help but think about it. Thanks again everyone!!

Hey Megan,
Cant Tony do it thru the legal help they have inside? My son has filed motions in there . He really has learned alot of legal stuff in there.Maybe you dont even need a lawyer. Tell Tony to talk to Randy if he can.
