Two children found living near meth lab

PHOENIX The fumes were overwhelming.

The description investigators used after busting a meth house at 103rd Avenue and Camelback Road.

It began when a drug task force received a tip about somebody buying a large quantity of cold medicine used in the manufacturing methamphetamine.

Investigators followed the buyer to the home last night.

After discovering "meth refuse" in the garbage, deputies took that person into custody.

He told them not only about the lab, but also about a toddler living in the home.

Inside, an 18-month-old boy was found no more than eight-feet from the lab.

Investigators say the toddler was lethargic, which is how meth affects children.

Two people were arrested.

They're identified as Joseph Martinez and Christine Brown.

OMG this is right down the street from my house! I didn't hear anything about it! Its sad to see these kids that get caught up in this stuff, it happens a lot around here and you woulnd't suspect half of the people!
