Christmas in a criminals eye

This is a poem my 14 yr old daughter wrote and it is being put in a poetry book her soon to be step dad inspired her .



Christmas is suppose to be free that is something that I'm not
Love, happiness, and family those are things I have not forgot
Christmas paper in which you fold on Christmas of which you hold
snow outside that is very cold,These things I wish I could behold
It's hard to believe this poem from which me it is told here in this jail
with nobody to talk to.
There is nothing I can do because what I did my life is through
I miss the outside world on this bed which I'am curled, Christmas is something I wish I could celebrate
If you knew me I would be someone you would hate
So thanks for reading my letter and good-bye

I dunno what to say...Kortney's poem is touching and heartfelt...I hope she has not given up hone for a life...that would be so very sad ...there are too many kids that think this way...please let her know she is in my prayers...and that she has a whole huge family here at PTO, loving her, praying for her, and knowing she will find away to come out on top. oh no she is not locked up she just wrote it for school and my fiance' is locked up and she writes him and visits him and she watches alot of movies and she said she just tried to imagine herself locked up so she wrote it and that is what she came up with

Oh!! I am so glad to hear that...that Kortney, is not locked up. Its great a such a young age she can put herself in others shoes... thats a great ability, and will get her far...I think i am even more touched...there is hope for this world in our youth.
