Worst Drivers Found In Two States

POSTED: 10:17 am EDT May 27, 2005

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Massachusetts and Rhode Island residents rank at the bottom of the list when it comes to driving skills.

A new survey by GMAC Insurance shows Ocean State drivers as worst in the country in knowing the rules of the road. Massachusetts ranked next to last.

The survey says one in 10 drivers in Rhode Island may be unfit for the road.

The GMAC survey revealed that one in four Americans say they would roll through a stop sign. One in four do not know how to pass a slow-moving vehicle and one in two do not merge correctly in traffic.

The survey tested 100 adults from each of the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia

*bows to crowd*

Yes, thank you, thank you... I am one of several Boston drivers who terrorize the streets!

I can't believe they did a study on what everyone already knows! LMAO

(Yes, directionals are optional around here! )

Takes the bow with Jess... The don't call ya "Massholes" for nothing!!!

I heard this the other day... Its not really surprising really... I've driven in many states and these two just seem to be the worse. I didn't even think New York was as bad.

I think its funny that 1 in 10 drivers in RI are unfit for the road... I woulda said 1 in 7 at the most
