Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

HI! I'm brand new to all this. I just got out of prison after 2 yrs./9 months and was wondering if there was possibly any state or local help for someone like me? I'm staying w/ friends in Baton Rouge, but only temporarily, until I can figure out what to do and where to go. I don't have any family...it's just me, so it's a little overwhelming at present. If anyone has ANY information they can share it would be of tremendous help to me....especially in or around the Baton Rouge area?

Dolphin - try some of the local religious institutions. they often have programs and support networks.

Ok, I'm not from Louisiana, but I did a search of the Baton Rouge area and came up with this.

Here's a link to a list of shelters that could probably help you or at least point you in the right direction.

Here's another link to Human Services. They have links to food pantry, clothing etc.

I really hope this helps you get back on your feet, only wish I could do more.
