Thumbs up I challenge All PTO Members to Help Victims of Katrina

I'm not sure this is where this goes, but it seems the best place..I have seen all that our PTO members do for each other without predjudice(sp) and with unconditional love and trust me without this place I would surely have been a basket case like so many of us felt when we first came on board.

Becuase of this strength and bonds we have I am asking everyone to do something for me and for our many members here who might have been desvestate in one way or another from Katrina. the story below is how this challenge came about in my my and has filled my heart..

"We as a nation must come together and open our hearts to those who have lost everything and pray for those souls who had no means to escape( I hear so many say what fools to have stayed) Many that stayed as we see just in the superdome they had no way of going so pray that when they get out someone somewhere will open their hearts and share what they can give and spare.

I listened to a report with a football player who is from NOrleans talking the reporter who are mutual friends and he made a profound statement that made me think. Many of us may not have $ to send for help and we all well know it takes time and red tape to spread the $ out. He made a plea for everyone to contact their Salvation Army and Red Cross in their local cities and find out if they were making trips to the affected areas...then donate clothing bedding, canned food and water and diapers, hygene products that can be given directly to those who need these things NOW.

Okay Guys/Girls lets dig in our kitchen pantrycabinets and our closet and get those out of style clothes/to big to small and outgrown kids clothes and go to your pantry and put together a meal for one family of 4 and take it to your local donation place! I promise you it will make your heart glow with joy and send tears down the recepient checks knowing someone out there cares beside the government!

I challenge each member to do this and post" I did it" here...with almost 50,000member think of all the meals you could provide. Think of all the guest that come in here and read our threads how many we could reachout to!

God bless each and everyone you.

ALabama Granny
