Default Classification Question

Hi everyone!

I have another question regarding the classification numbers. My fiance was classified as a "2".

I looked that up on the Handbook and it says that "2" is for mimimum security. Does this mean that his home jail will be a mimimum security facility? Or could they just send him anywhere?

Thanks!

Carol

Not necessarily, my husband is also a level 2 and is in forest which has max security. the saying goes wherever theres bed they go. He is now 7 hours away from me and I havent seen him in months. I'm 9 months pregnant with our third child and I cant get to him. When I confronted the counselor about the min/max levels he said they go where theres space. I hope in your case its not as far for you. Hang in there

Default I agree w/you...

even though an inmate is classified as a Level 2, does not mean they will be sent to one. Still though, even though it is true that they send them wherever there is bed space...yet, at the same time, if he has been classified as a minimal risk prisoner, as classified by the prison board...he then can be transferred to one. This of course if not written in stone...remember this is Pennsylvania... they can and will do as they please...yet, again(I cannot emphasis this enough) their arrogants can be tamed...even they have to comply to the laws set by Ferderal and State laws...but, before the DOC usually complies to those laws...you,or him,or your attorney...someone that knows how to twist the arm of the prison administration; before you(the love one) gets any satisfaction... In this state...you have to learn how to apply the pressure...you can get results.
I would first find out as much as you can learn about the classification system, as written in the Prison Hand-book...than I would make my first initial complaint to the prison administration....Document all paperwork, and communications....if no satisfaction...go one step up the ladder...try and understand this...there is a chain of command...you have to follow that chain up the ladder...do not try to jump ahead of it...it can cost you time...use your time to get the results for your love one, and his family...Good luck...gd4or
