Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

As you guyz know I am fairly new to the penpal issue; well, I sent out 2 letters on 30th dec to texas and florence co (?) what i did not know then is that i have to put my address on the envelop as the sender. does this mean that the people i wrote did not get the letters? if they did get them, how long does it take for letters to be handed out (bearing in mind i live in the u.k)?

....also there is someone in raiford texas that i had wanted to write to but i have been scared to do so coz i don't want them to get in trouble, I would never mention the internet, infact i wanted to say that a friend gave me the contacts but would that hold water? I don't want anyone to get any more trouble than they already are in (I read that all FL DR inmates are in the "hole") but i do feel that this individual needs a friend, so good people, where do i go from here...? thanks for your time & God bless
