Default Finding someone in ODOC to give a straight...

answer to anything you ask them literally takes an act of congress. Terry is getting to sign his packet July 7th to start the process of moving him from the min. unit he is in to a community center(ie work release) and I was trying to figure out if we can request a certain area such as here in OKC. I called the community corrections main office here and was given one answer I told Terry and he discussed it with his case manager, who then says no you cant put a recommendation or request in the packet. So back I go more emails and more calls and I am being told the whole way that YES they can request an area they just may not get it. I finally got ahold of the lady in the Eastern Rigion where he is now and that will be processing his classification change approval. And when I told her all I had been through just trying to get an answer she took pity on me and actually spent about 30 minutes answering everything. Of course they have a ot of guys wanting to come here to the city fro the WR but when I told her the main reason we wanted him here was that he had a job waiting for him. She decided to go one step further and told me to call when he signs and she will flag his packet to come straight to her and SHE will put the recommendation and attach the copy of the letter from his boss saying he has a job herself. So his case manager being a lazy SOB no longer matters and since she does the classification her recommendation will have more power behind it to. So hopefully soon he will be here close to me and no more LONG drives just to visit. I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying lots of prayers.

And now once we have that straight and we get someone willing to help what else could go wrong.? In my world everything but what has happened now is his boss that has promised and promised to hold his job says yes he has a job when he gets out but because of the type of work he does construction and the fact they go all over the state doing it and that its subcontract work(meaning he pays cash not check) that he can not give Terry back his job while in work release only when he gets out for good which puts a major wrench in our plans to make sure he got moved to a work release here in OKC Grrrrrrrrr So time to go lick my wounds a little and figure out a new battle plan.

MommaHen,

What Work Center are you trying to get him moved too? Call the main DOC office and tell them what a hardship it is on the family to visit him. We contacted our state representative and he made the recommendation for my husband to be moved closer. You can go on the OK state legislation site to get the names of you state representative. Ours was very helpful, but my husband said that all we needed to do was call OKC and talk to them and keep at them. Just tell them the circumstances and they should be able to do something for you. Best wishes.

I will get up and fight again to get him home I was just really down last night and felt the need to whine and "lick my wounds" I am just so sick of ODOC!!!

Default work release

Hi. Not talked to you in a while.
It is good news that your guy will be signimg the paperwork for WR!
That letter of recommentation will still look good on his paperwork. So if on the Paperwork that he fills out ask for any comments or suggestions from him he can also ad that to his papers?
That away it is there in his writing that he at least requested to be transferred closer to home so it not be more of a Hardship for the Family. Like the above post says.
