You might have to send the same letter over again to the Superintendent at eastern, i've heard that the marriage process at eastern is pretty smooth, i've heard you can have a cake ordered by the bakery of the facilities choice, congrat's to you and your soon to be hubby

hope everything works out for the best.

All of this has been very helpfull to me. Now when i write to him again I can let him know that he has to write to the superitendant of attica to get permission for us to get married. I'm also going to do the same. Also I can't remember who posted it but if my baby hadn't ened up in jail i never would have found him again either. we dated in highschool and then we were apart for about 12 yrs. when we met again it was like we had never been apart. i love this man with all i am.

As far as I know, you both need to write the superintendent (not his counselor). Hopefully, the counselor has forwarded your request to the superintendent.

Ask your fiancee to find out the name of the marriage counselor and then you can call to follow up. I had to call the marriage counselor several times because at the facility we were married ~ she only did the interviews every other month or so... so she waited to contact people all at once. But you can always call and say that you wanted to confirm that your request was received.

This is true. I was married at Eastern several years ago. The process was extremely smooth and yes, we were allowed to order a cake from the local bakery. You tell them what kind you want, you pay for it in advance, and the bakery deliver's the cake the morning of your wedding.

Does anyone know if an inmate needs their birth certificate to get married? My fiance wants to get married, but his counselor said he needs it? Does anyone know if this is true?

Question Does Anyone Know.......

The current Superintendant for Clinton Correctional? I have just seen 2 conflicting things on the internet. Is it Dale Artus or Daniel Senkowski? I'm sure its Dale Artus but i just wanted some clarification!

My man got sent to sing sing and we were suppose to get married before he got sentenced but thats a whole other issue. My question is how long is the marriage process? Also, after you get married im noe u must wait 90 days to apply for a frp visit, correct? How long does that process take? He's going to be in there for awhile, so to me this is all a must!

Does anyone happen to know if the inside of the wedding band can be engraved? My soon to be mother in law ordered our rings and had them engraved. If anyone happens to know this, please let me know~so i can order a new one if necessary. Thanks so much!

I talked to my fiance's counselor at Collins and she said that I have to come up at least 2 weeks prior to April (when the weddings are held) to get the marriage license. After reading the main thread, it says no less than 24 hours. I am so confused. I can't come all the way to NY twice in that short of time. I looked and can't find anyone who has gotten married in Collins to find out how long between when they got their license and when they actually got married. Can anyone help me???
