Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Hello everybody!

Sorry I haven't been keeping in touch lately. Things have been really crazy around here. We finally have a release date of 12/2/06 as our worst case scenario, and if he's able to get credit for training his puppy, it'll be 11/2/06. Yippee! So we've set our wedding date for 1/13/07 right here in Charleston. We're very excited, and busy busy busy planning for it. He's got a couple of potential jobs as a pilot as soon as he gets out, which is what we're really praying for. But, we just want God's will.

Okay, I know we've all been hearing about the 65% law forever and a day now, but my main reason for writing today is that Chad called yesterday to say that he spoke with his case manager, and she said that it is on the table. I can't say I totally believe her, but what a blessing it would be. Sometimes it's just nice to have a little ray of hope, especially if you still have a long time ahead of you. I'm sure you all know what I'm saying here.

Anyway, I hope this is the right place to post it, if not, one of you mods feel free to move it

Hi Amanda, sounds like things are looking up for you. Glad that you have so much to look forward to.

As for the 65% that would be a blessing for many but.... I'll believe it when it is official.

Case Managers have always said the 65% was on the table.

I just met in Washington D.C. with lawmakers - as well as speak regularly to the Head of the Corrections committee in the state legislature. There is nothing on the table that resembles the 65% law.

The only thing close in the Hurricane Katrina workers who are getting extra good time.

I take it that he'll be maxing out in December - no parole?

oh, sorry, i know nothing about a 65% law (sounds good to me though), just wanted to send my well wishes!

Thanks for the warm wishes everybody. I'll be over that way Aug 5-7, so if you're having any get-togethers, let me know and I'll try to swing by. Bummer about the 65% law, I had a feeling! But it's little things like that that keep his hopes up. Even so, we've got less than 3 1/2 months left to go. Thanks again!!!
