Does anyone know if someone was deported and came back to the USA. Now he is getting mental health help but his social worker keeps telling him to file for disability because of his mental illness. He can't do that right, because when he files they will know he was deported. He still has his social security card and his alien card. but once the his legal docs. are run they will automatically know or how do they find out, like if he was to look for a job????? anyone know anything about this, I would really appreciate any help I can get!!

I wouldn't be willing to risk it. Not sure of the legalities but I would not advise doing it. You never know when systems could change and it could catch up to him. Being the fiance of someone who is being deported, I would never wish for anyone to have to go through this if they could avoid it.

I wouldn't risk it either. If he was deported once then I don't think the green card is valid any longer. Give me a little time to check around, but because of his legal status he wouldn't be give any benefits anyway & it would just tip of ICE that he is in the country,

I agree with Adriene and Rainbow - once he's deported his alien card number should say he's deported. He try to use it and ICE will come knocking on the door.

If he's mentally ill there are free mental health clinics all over this country to help pay for treatment and medications. I don't know where he's at but in NY area you can get treatment and medications for mental illness for free even if you are undocumented.
