need to know how save money phone calls

my boy friend is prarie in appleton an evercom is very expensive that runs the phone system how can i save money buy getting a prepaid phone an getting a phone number that matches the same area code 320 ? can any one help me please merry christmas to every one god loves us all

my man is there to and they can buy prepaid phone cards in comminsary. hope this helps. I have no idea about how much it cost but he will put 10 or 20 on it and call.

Please check into PCO. It is legal and quite a bit lower than most of the correctional facility calls.

I have a cell phone number with my man's area code. I don't know if your guy is allowed to call cell number though.

When my husband was transferred to PCF we went out and got an Appleton cell phone with the hopes that he would be able to call it for 38 cents a call (like you could in St Cloud) but nope!! You have to call through Evercom and it really doesn't make a lot of difference if he uses the calling card through canteen or calls me collect. It's a five cent difference. When he calls collect there's a connection fee plus so much per minute. I know that i got a quote from PTO but it wasn't any cheaper for me since i'm in state.

My husband puts $100.00 on his phone card each canteen (every other Monday -- so $200.00 a month PLUS a pay a phone bill for the collect calls of about $175.00 a month. There really isn't any way to get around the high cost of the calls.

i have prepaid my self evercome is a rip off i pay 58.00 dollars to get prepaid an they take $8.oo for the top which leaves me fifty bucks for him to call $6.00 dollars that leaves me $6.00 is take of the top 20 minute phone call half the time we dont get twenty minutes he hangs up before twenty minutes i dont recieve that money back on the phone call an his cateen mess up big time its every two weeks now he called an was really bum out about prarie in appleton nothing to do sit there for three years of this stuff when will it end god help us all ps he ordered a tv never recieve the money in his account an he been there since Dec 1 of 06

Is anyone signed up for PCO? I would like to know if it is any cheaper calling from Appleton to the Cities that way? Right now I think the cost per call is around $6...

evercom will have a another hearing throw the public utilties co on sept 27 thur come on folks i hope an pray that any one that has ever com for high bills please show up for the hearing i pray that you folks will show up because i know that qwest that does the billing for evercom they are not doing it for free get evercom out of here or i pray there that there will be a law suit against them
