Default SCI visiting

So just curious as to how long it generally takes from the time an inmate is put in to how long it is to have the visitor list approved so that I can go see him?

I sent a hand written list to him when he was in CCCF but he got transfered out before getting it (will his mail be transferred to him as well?). He also sent visiting applications to me that are going in the mail today.

Thanks
Shannon

Well it just depends on the counselor and case load as to how long it will take to get approved. Mine took almost 3 weeks, however, another friend on here was approved in less than a week. I have no criminal background so the hold up was not because of my past it was just because there was a large amount of people that went in at the same time and he was assigned many of them. My husband filled out our applications for us so I never saw the application what so ever. I just gave him the information via the phone and he filled it out the day he arrived at SRCI.

Yes their mail does follow them. When Rocky was moved from CCCF to SRCI it took about 10 days to catch up to him. He was getting his welcome to your new home card before he had the items that I had sent to CCCF. Your mail does not have as much travel time as we had to hopefully it will get to him sooner.

The first visit is very emotional. You feel ten times better just getting to see them. I will never forget...I had approval and two days later I was there! I would have been there on the day I had approval but the 7 hour drive and making overnight arrangements took me a day to get figured out. It was so very exciting...but you know something...I still get the butterflies in my tummy every time I see him...just as if it was the first time all over again.

Can't wait til you get to see your guy too.
